Robert Johnson says he's ready to play in NCAA Tournament
Stuhoo replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Morgan was a full go against Michigan -
Fixed that for 'ya Jaybob.

Robert Johnson has practiced at full speed all week.

Stay on thread topic, you knuckleheads! Do you guys think we play "guards in and bigs out" against UK?
-
Disagree. Their 29 wins ARE a joke. Their out of conference wins against medium grade power conference teams happened with their best player still playing. After that the wins that they piled up happened in one of the worst Division 1 conferences. Even then, in their conference tournament they barely won against three terrible teams. If we don't win with a little bit of comfort, we never deserved to be thought of as worthy of a run anyway.

Indiana's first NCAA Opponent: Chattanooga
Stuhoo replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Stony Brook is better. Make UK work hard before they play us. -
I know that it's getting a little ahead of ourselves, but let's talk strategy versus Kentucky: We did it against Purdue; Let's try to turn Kentucky inside out, but for a different reason. Kentucky seems to be one of the best perimeter defense teams in the country primarily because of the strength of their guards. When we played Purdue we inverted them; kept our bigs on the perimeter and brought our guards inside. In doing so, we negated the value of Purdue's shot blockers. With Kentucky we can force their subpar bigs to guard Max, Collin, and Thomas away from the basket, and more importantly we will negate the defensive strength of their guards. Thoughts?

Selection Sunday on CBS 5:30 ET (+ Chat)
Stuhoo replied to FortWayneHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Are you people losing your minds? THIS IS THE GREATEST BRACKET EVER!! THE KENTUCKY fried CHICKENS are going to be forced to play Our. Indiana. Hoosiers. I cannot wait, and I cannot wait to watch every stinking glorious second of us beating them. The UK semi-pro one and dones have no idea of why this game has special signifigance, but I'll betcha Yogi, Colinn, and Max do. So do TB, Troy, and Z. -
See: Blackmon, Vijay. Stefanovic is that team's alpha dog - 'ball in his hands' kid. In college, Stefanovic will never, never play that role. Much like Vijay is not a good fit for IU, and will never be a high major alpha dog. Both may be better "talents" than Gelon. That doesn't mean they'll be more effective D1 high major basketball players. Having said that, I have no idea whatsoever whether Gelon will be a: Priller (oops!), or a Roth/Zeisloft/Kyle Hornsby (yippee!). I do know that because of his quick release and his catch/shoot ability we're bringing him in. Hoping the coaching staff identified the right kid for that future role.

A 247 poster also, though it could be the same guy as this poster.

Not the first time the rumor has been posted on one of the IU message boards. We shall see!

I'm gonna post this, because I truly believe it: After seeing the evolution, depth, talent, and chemistry of this team, I believe that they are poised and ready for a deep, deep run. Going into the NCAA tournament they will be healthy, rested, ready, experienced, and excellent. Get ready Hoosier Nation - We are about to go a long, long way. Anything could happen, and I may be wrong, but I betcha I'm not.

Is the glass half empty or half full?
Stuhoo replied to BottomLine's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Leading into yesterday we had won five in a row, three of which were against ranked teams, in a power conference. Did y'all expect us to never lose again? The ship is right; we will be a very tough out in the tournament. And that's what we should be hoping for every year. -

That's because they treat Gesell and Clemons like dirt. Wait til they see the guys that weren't good enough to beat out Gesell and Clemons. -

Iowa has a total of ZERO points from their bench today. Iowa loses four of their five starters. Iowa basketball is in big trouble. Fran may not survive next year. -

(2015) SF Ogugua Anunoby to IU
Stuhoo replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The start of this thread is a cool read. Huge kudos to rebelhoosier and Kepner, both of whom got the OG vibe very, very early. BGleas wore his skeptic hat, and a couple thought that the scholly we had "wasted on Hartman" would end up going to OG. -

In retrospect Hova, I went back and fixed it for ya'! -
From the second that I first saw Hoetzel's twitter page adorned with a giant weed leaf, I was hoping he'd be a goner.

He is so much better he felt it was worth redundant-izing the thought!
