  1. Agreed. How many of these talented players thrive under a different voice?
  2. Just because we don't necessarily agree with some hypothetical opinion on how to recruit does not mean we do not get it. Sorry for the double negative but it confuses me there is this level of certainty towards this. 75% of our kids yearly are local. He isn't pulling projects from the East Coast. He is pulling nationally recognized kids from the East Coast.
  3. IMO this is one of those you are damned if you do and damned if you don't arguments. The culture of this team is primarily due to the 2012 class. Mainly local kids. So either you get the "right" local kids. Or you don't if they aren't winning. IMO it all comes back to coaching. Who is to say the local kids having success elsewhere would have the same here? Yogi was absolutely a need for that team when he came in. I don't give a damn who the coach was they were going after Yogi. 2nd best pg coming in that year in our backyard?
  4. Battle of the football schools... Lol
  5. Hutch what were your thoughts on Troy taking the point under 2 on 2 out of 3 possessions with the game tied as much as he struggled? I know in the crowd every person wanted the ball in Yogi or Robs hands. There were a bunch of people saying no, no, no in the crowd. Myself included. It seemed to make us easier to guard in that situation. I will say on the 2nd trip he got bailed out but still didn't like that feel of a last possession of game feel. Thoughts?
  6.   I truly think their limitations on the defensive end are size and athletic limitations.  Their coaching maximizes their ability.  I don't mean to pile on, but the preparation is night and day.  That much was obvious just from pregame.
  7. I made a change to your post.  Please don't make it personal towards a player like that anymore.
  8.   Even in their pre-game they were practicing against specific cuts Purdue would make so they would be accustomed to the angles.  The way they rebounded or collapsed on larger players when they touched the ball was practiced and was well planned.  Maybe it was a one off performance, but that team was ready for everything Purdue had.  That isn't easy with that size.
  9. As much as I am sure all of these people enjoy that contribution, lets please let those have their opinions.  To add to your "opinion" about Duke and UK, those are teams that will be there at the end of the year.  They do it year after year.  No team is perfect, but you will see them at the end of the year.  That is what these "armchair coaches" want.  Will Crean do that?  How many of us should be fired in our professions?  Well, not all professions are designed equal.  I feel as though I am pretty efficient in my job as a Biomedical Engineer for the largest hospital organization in Northern Indiana.  I have numbers to back up that fact.  Enough so, I am going through a promotion.  Could I be the coach of Indiana?  No.  Could Crean be a Biomedical Engineer?  No.  Could he understand the basics of that profession enough to know when I am doing a good job if he watched me for 33 years?  Yes.  I feel as though I can make some pretty easy assumptions based off of that as well about his profession.  Not all coaching jobs are the same.  If you think he has done a good enough job after 8 years to stay head coach at IU, you just may have different standards than myself for this position.  Which is fine.  I disagree with you.
  10. Butler.
  11. That size difference in person was amazing. Then you add how they blocked out. Had a guard coming down to help on boards and any time they dribbled down low. That team was well taught. Fluid offensively. You guys should see their pregame routine. It wasn't just shooting. They practiced from 3 angles being active with their hands defensively. IU practices shooting 3's. Even big Tom.
  12. Nah they were talking trash as they were leaving with 4 min left about Wake Forest.
  13. Wrong thread but watching this PU vs Butler game in person is a thing of beauty. Mainly for how hard the PU fans are taking this but this Butler squad is very well coached in all facets of the game.
  14. When IU broke through the first time to get under 10, then ND got it back up to 13 due to that dumb Blackmon, Williams back to back sequence the crowd was pretty hard on the kids during the timeout. IMO that was when the tide changed out of the timeout.
  15. I will say Irish fans here at The Fieldhouse were talking a lot of shit until about 6 min to go. This crowd is anti Crean. Dudes were selling can Crean pay for Stevens shirts outside.
  16. At the game. Crean was booed at the intro. Putting the ball in Troy's hands at the end when played like crap most of the game was questionable at best made no sense. The tv doesn't do our zone justice. It's worse in person. Offensive boards saved us. Ultimately it's a win we had to have. Happy Hoosier here. Fuck Purdue and their fans.
  17. I think middle of the pack and a loss today means NIT.
  18. Yeah man I had to up my score in the guessing game.
  19. I didn't realize IU and Notre dame have 2 of the top 4 offenses.
  20. Yeah he is. That dude is fundamentally sound.
  21. Dude you know some reserve is gonna bust out in a 7-9 from deep and we will all be pissed. We may win or lose but I expect that.
  22. God I hope not. Their defense is worse than ours.
  23. I am not a fan of either. Both should be at a Notre Dame type of level of school.
