  1. Hopefully posters don’t start turning on each other like they did waiting on our first 2020 recruit.... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  4. I think overall it’s a pretty accurate listing of the league. However, I do think 2-8 could be wide open. A lot of teams lost key players, but are typically good at staying consistent. To me, Illinois and Indiana are potential wildcards this year. Both teams have the talent to make some big noise this year in the Big10. How will Wisconsin and Purdue look without their two stars, Michigan lost a lot and new coach. A lot of question marks in this league for the upcoming season. I think MSU, OSU, and Maryland will be the top 3 teams, but it’s going to be an interesting team be to watch. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  5. Won’t predict our record just yet until the full schedule is released, but I do think we will get into the tournament. As for starters, I think we will start the season: Davis TJD Smith Green Rob End the season: Rob Green Hunter TJD Davis I could also see Coach swapping TJD for Al, will be hard to keep Al out of that lineup, and he will push Green and others to take their spot. Idk, it’s tough because I’m a big Al fan, just does everything well. Our biggest question marks will be Smith and Hunter. If Smith gains confidence, shooting stroke, and a consistent motor, he is a sure fire All-Big 10 caliber player. Just needs to get it in between his ears he can be a dominant player when he wants to. If Hunter is healthy, I see him being brought along slowly, and then potentially taking a starter spot later in the season. Love that we have a bench where there isn’t much of a drop off at all the spots (except probably Rob’s). Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  6. I was born in ‘86, and only really remember watching the ‘02 title run season, and I’m a crazy huge IU fan. I remember Guyton, Lewis, Haston, and Recker, but barely. I’m a die-hard fan, even though I’ve mainly lived through the down years of IU basketball. I may question myself at times lol, but always a die-hard fan. 7. Agreed. I think we will for sure get a big, just curious about a PG with potentially Lander waiting in the wing. Really like how this class is shaping up to be. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  8. Welcome to the IU family Mr. Leal, it’s great to have you. Now, you and Mr. Galloway need to put a full court press on helping us get Lander next season :) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  9. So why is it Archie’s fault if a kid truly wants to attend another school?! No coach ever gets every kid they want, no matter how successful they might be in recruiting. I get it might be frustrating to miss a kid to a lesser school, but sometimes it has nothing to do with coaching. Some kids want to get away from home, might not mesh well with players like they do at other schools, etc. Archie is doing a great job recruiting the state, and has proven he is focused on his inside-out philosophy that most IU fans have been calling for since Knight. Archie isn’t perfect and will miss on Indiana kids, but it’s not a horrible look if one 2020 kid decides to go elsewhere. We’ve gotten Galloway and are in on other top Indiana HS players. If he starts missing on a lot of those players, then I would be worried, but he hasn’t. He’s landed top, middle, and role player level recruits from the Hoosier state. 11. His parents, mainly his dad, played a huge part in him going to Kentucky. Heard several times from guys plugged into the program that Brooks to IU seemed to be the plan, but his dad really pushed hard for UK. I’m sure the losing streak played right into his dad’s hands. Anyway, back on topic. Would love to get Leal, think it will happen, but won’t be heartbroken over it. Wish him the best either way! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  13. I’ve been both a critic and supporter of Archie, but it took Belien quite some time (if memory serves me correctly......never know how that goes lol) to get Michigan rolling. Last year was just a bad storm of a ton of things, including Archie, but I also feel that we will see a lot of really good things the next couple of years that will get the entire fan base around him. He wasn’t my preferred hire, but I do believe he will get the job done and do it well. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. He’s someone I hope we can get. I assume we will make his top 5, but who knows. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  21. While it was an underwhelming season (trust me, I’ve been outspoken about my frustrations with Archie/team), but no one in their right mind could have predicted the injuries that the team was dealt with. Rob’s concussion, Hunter missing the entire season, Race missing most of the season, McRoberts being hurt almost the entire season, Romero’s thumb injury, Al dislocating finger at MSU, Deron’s health iffy most of the season (some conditioning issues from last season’s injury), and a Green getting suspended (didn’t he also get injured and was out a couple games in the non-conference?). I get both parties being positive or negative, but this team was totally derailed by injuries. This team also had 4 games where it took some ridiculous shooting to beat us. Trust me, I still think this team underachieved by not making the tournament, but if this team was mostly healthy all season, it gets into the tournament. If this team can fix the slow starts and just be a cohesive team on the floor, I think this team can surprise some people. I’m expecting an 8-12th seed in the NCAA Tourney next season, and anything less will be a huge disappointment with Archie’s seat scolding hot (I realize my comment a few pages back about improving but not making the tournament made no sense, just an idiotic comment by me that I didn’t think through). I think Archie can be the coach that can take us back to where we need to, but he needs to show much more than he did last season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  23. I think we make it, especially with even though I think the Big10 will be competitive, it won’t be as tough as last year. Also, I think our schedule will be slightly easier overall which will help us out. I think Archie gets 4 years without a doubt unless this season is completely awful. If don’t make the tournament next year but there’s progress, I see him being out in 5 if he barely makes it in or out in years 4 and 5. I get that our team stunk it up quite a bit, but this team was hit so hard with injuries that we lose site of the impact it had. If we stay healthy, this team is a top 50 team. I don’t see top 30 unless Hunter is healthy and killing it, along with Smith having a break out year. I know everything is hypothetical, but I do believe that this team can make the tournament if healthy and can improve its shooting. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  24. While I don’t agree with you about the post-season run and being a top team next year, there is reason to be positive, but very cautiously. To me, this is the most important season coming up, because to me this is what makes or breaks Archie. I could be wrong, but if he misses the tournament this year and barely gets in the following, I don’t know if I see him lasting after that. If he makes it in this year, then I think that will not only help with the fanbase, but getting over some recruiting humps. My only worry with Archie is his offense, because it drastically needs to be altered or install something new. It lacked a lot to be desired, regardless of how bad the team was at shooting. I think our defense will be better, along with a slight up tick from deep and free throw line, but I do worry about the offense as a whole. I think this is a NCAA tournament team, especially if Anderson, Smith, and Hunter are able to contribute like we hope (I hope everyone doesn’t expect much from Hunter, especially for a little while). I’m really excited to see Rob and Al be a good duo with the Davis/Brunk combo. If Green can play more under control and off the ball, I think this will be a fun team to watch. To me, the biggest question mark that can swing this season is Justin Smith. If we get a good motor and effort from him every game, this team will be darn good and tough to stop around the rim. This team needs confidence, shooting, and a better offensive (might be better with a more team focus). I’m cautiously optimistic because I think the season can easily go either way, but have hope as a fan that IU is on the trend up! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
