IUBB vs Illinois- 2/5/2022 @ 12:00 on ESPN

Adding on. If you are driving there are four good microbreweries in Evanston. Sketchbook, and Temperance Beer Co are the best known of the bunch but each is a few miles from the arena. Smiley Brothers is more restaurant than bar but close to downtown. A new one called Double Clutch brews German beers and has a mini museum of classic sports cars...it's off on its own in a neighborhood, but just a mile away from the game. Bluestone is walking distance and has a nice bar but typically gets packed early on game days. There are also two new bars close together, downtown, called Tapville and Ridgeville Tavern, but I've not been to either yet. -

I sometimes wonder if there are career counselors out there advising HS and college athletes who struggle to commit themselves to anything to go into coaching.

I had the exact same thought. -

They ran that other commercial about being #1 in the polls during their Rutgers game. I hope they keep going with the campaign. It's awesome entertainment. -

Just an observation. None of the revolving door of Purdue giants has had sucess in the NBA. -

I like Galloway off the bench too, but I'd like to see him in the game earlier when the starters struggle to get started (pun intended). -
There is something to this, but it has been a long time since IU had an intangible presence on the sideline to influence the refs, to counterbalance crowd induced calls. Woody strikes me as somebody who can do that...at least I hope.

Things to like about this team so far:

I could see Lander moving ahead of Rob soon. The fact that he flirts with 10 second violations at the start of so many possessions, even when there is no pressure, is a momentum killer IMHO. -

IU 103 - 61 -
I'm torn on this. As you've pointed out they play in an insane conference, with 6 of the top 13 ranked teams nationally. And it's not like this is a one and done sport. Top teams bringing in top recruiting classes every year are very stable...they are not foes that IU can leapfrog with one or two recruiting wins. I'm disappointed too, but I'm not convinced, yet anyway, that moving away from Baird is warranted. I'd personally give it two more years...feels like his last two classes have had higher ranked recruits and I'd like so to see them as upperclassmen.

Looks like it's the collar and Adidas logo. A small break in the collar at the front (versus being rounded), with the logo at the top center just under that break, versus being on the left from shoulder.

(2022) PF Jalen Washington to UNC

Or he can go to Purdue and try to join the oh so long list (as number two, behind Carl Landry) of Painter post recruits who have gone on to last more than bench-filled two seasons in the NBA. -
(2022) - SF Justin Taylor to Syracuse

Call me crazy but social media is a fairly shallow thing. I see it as a good sign that his thoughts on IU may be deeper than what instantly came to his mind at other stops. -
(2022) - SF Alex Karaban to UConn

For the past four years every falling out with a top 100 recruit has felt like a gut punch. Just a short time into Woody's tenure and my reaction is so be it...we have several great options on the table. Refreshing! -
The top 4 feel solid to me heading into next season. I suspect that 5th spot will involve a lot of competition and rotation unless/until somebody breaks from the pack. And I agree with sentiments on Rob...of all the guys on the team he requires the most significant mental adjustment to stay in the conversation. I could see him landing anywhere from 5 to 10 on the list by mid-season.

(2022) PG Braden Smith to Purdue

Good for him. The days of competing with Purdue for talent are quickly coming to an end. Woody intends to compete at a higher level, and rightfully so. -
Is anyone tracking private jets between Lexington, Fort Wayne and Bloomington yet? Kidding!
