There was a really nice 9-0 run during the game when our sub laced line-up played D, played scrappy and generally worked together as a team.  Why was I not surprised that a minute or two into that moment of beauty Crean swapped in three regular starters from the bench?  His coaching instincts are beyond bizarre...he's programmed to self destruct.   Mr. Glass, how can you not see this?

It’s fascinating to see all the recruiting sites rate a kid with offers from IU, Arizona, Cincy and Texas, among many others, as a 3 star. At what point might the ‘experts’ take notice that a growing list of coaches are on to something?

There are so many problems with our defense but I want to just call out one of them that frustrates me to no end, in the distant hope that a player or two will read it.  Several of our guys do it but Colin is the one that most comes to mind.  I don’t want to criticize but since the coaches can’t figure this out somebody needs to say it.   When as a team you’ve left a guy wide open for a three point shot, it does absolutely no good to run towards and then past him after he has released the ball.  Sprinting towards the sideline with one arm in the air after the fact fools nobody and results in you being, well, out of the play if/when a long rebound opportunity arises.  Please, guys, if it’s too late to influence the shot stay in front of the shooter and in the game…rather than running past him and falling out of play.  Please, please, please!!!! 

That fails to address the issue.  The players are trying.  It's not effort that we lack, it's basic team defense...they are trying to do what they are being instructed to do, and the result is utter failure.  One guy needs to be benched, and he's not a player.

Curt Miller is the read deal.  IU WBB is about to explode.  It would be a great time to make that call.

Why I am off the Crean train: *poor x&o’s *momentum killing substitutions *does not learn from mistakes   Why I am not yet on the fire Crean train: *he may not be the right guy anymore, but he still deserves our respect *he is a good recruiter and runs a great program off the court *why get fired up about something that isn’t going to happen anytime soon   Why it isn’t going to happen anytime soon: *Glass is not going to fire Crean this year, nor next for that matter *No other program is going to lure Crean away *Crean is not going to resign   What I’m going to do about it: *dream about what James, Noah and Yogi might accomplish next year *not dream or scream about the unrealistic prospect of Stevens or Smart at IU next year *admire what Coach Miller is doing with the Women’s team…2-3 years away from being special!
