Or you should watch Robinson play, he does get to the rim.  Quite a bit actually.   Maybe your confusing Stan with Etherington or Hartman.

The mods here do a pretty good job of letting both sides speak.  Bring this post to another board and people would probably want you tarred and feathered.   A lot of things are easier said than done.  Most of the time it looks like our idea of attacking the zone is a slow ball reversal where we let the defense get reset before the make the next pass, and that won't work.

So you are going to say to watch out for people who take an aggressive approach to his first post, then turn around and call them mentally challenged? You are the last person to criticize anyone when that is your response.   These types of post are the reason some boards are completely unbearable. One side has no problem calling out the other side for some of the things they say. But they have no problem doing the exact same thing themselves, both extremes are equally wrong.

The zone is about 10 times more complicated to beat than a lot of fans make it out to be. It doesn't help that they are playing against guys of mostly the same skill level who are running a zone that is itself is difficult to beat. But of course since the ideas of how to beat a zone seem simple a lot of fans think it should be easy to execute, which it isn't.    Also can we stop with the statements like "anyone who disagrees go do (insert any number of statements that implies they aren't watching enough of something)".

So what's the status of Coach Gardner? I feel good about the situations of every sport at IU except volleyball and softball. Will she get more time with the new facility?

  6. Norwell came out unscathed from their Sectional.   Regional includes:  Northwood vs. FW Bishop Dwenger and Norwell vs. Muncie Central   These teams are identical in the style of play.  Should be interesting.   Go Knights!

Box Score       BOISE, Idaho – Indiana softball head coach Michelle Gardner picked up her 300th career win this afternoon after the Hoosiers defeated Valparaiso 3-1 in their final game of the SpringHill Suites Invitational in Boise, Idaho. Coach Gardner is now 300-345-1 (.464) in her coaching career with a 113-169-1 (.399) at the helm in Indiana.  IU finished the weekend 3-2 to improve to 5-16-1 on the year. Indiana connected on nine hits against the Crusaders, with seven different Hoosiers tallying hits in the contest. Brianna Meyer lead the way at the plate going 2-for-4 with an RBI-single and a run scored. Michelle Huber and Kassi Farmer also drove in runs for Indiana this afternoon. Breanna Saucedo singled to extend her reached base streak to eight consecutive games. Brooke Boetjer started the first 3.2 innings and allowed just one earned run on three hits while striking out three. Lora Olson (2-7) finished the game to become pitcher of record, tossing 3.1 shutout innings with just two Valpo hits and a pair of strikeouts. The Hoosiers opened the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning. Breanna Saucedo reached on a fielding error and made her way to third on a single by Meyer. A one-out walk loaded the bases for Farmer who came through with an RBI-base hit to right to put her team ahead 1-0. Huber followed with another single to left. The hit drove in Meyer and gave Indiana a two run lead over Valpo. Saucedo started the second inning with her first single of the game and advanced to second on her eighth stolen base of the season. Meyer would bring her around to score on a single up the middle, putting IU on top 3-0.   Valpo added a run in the fourth, sending Olson in to take over in the circle. The junior would shutout the Crusaders the rest of the way to help the Hoosiers to their third straight win. http://www.iuhoosiers.com/sports/w-softbl/recaps/030914aad.html Congrats to Coach Gardner for getting her 300th career win.

The only thing that really changes is the names. Doesn't matter what sport or what team it's all the same.     If you have a good moderating staff they'll try to keep it so people are respectful to each other and the team. If not the place turns into Scout and everyone leaves except for the few who drove everyone else away. It's a simple formula that isn't quite so simple to execute.  It's pretty easy to over or under enforce to the detriment of the group. Many places end up under enforcing either out of an overly idealistic sense of freedom of speech or they tire of the battle and give up. Getting it right is a never ending and mostly unappreciated task.
