  1. You did this with USPS and now with Chris007 - you're assuming you know the facts while credible individuals are disputing your 'facts'. Nothing is ever as clear to us outsiders, so I don't know how you can assume you know this to be true. A little digging (explainations above) also provide a pretty clear and plausible explanation for Gelon. As for LOI's, who knows, but it's a pretty tough look if the kids wanted to remain committed to pull the rug out from under them in the late spring when Archie came on.
  2. I do not like what I am seeing this year at all. I still want to give Archie four seasons (and certainly see how this season plays out). I don't see how he survives (at least the fans) if we don't make the tournament this year though.
  3. SOS is accounted for in these metrics. We'll see how it plays out, but they're now 11-1 with a Q1 road win against us, a tourney team as of now. Saying they aren't good is inaccurate. Didn't call them a world beater either.
  4. I also saw someone mention Arkansas is not a good team - this is just not accurate. KenPom has them ranked #32 and they are somewhere in the top 30ish rang last I saw in NET.
  5. Maybe? We'll see what team shows up in 2020. FSU, UConn, and ND weren't mirages. Last night wasn't either.
  6. But the idea that we can throw enough money to make this place attractive is factual? Regardless of money, there wasn't even initial interest from names that would require big money. Again, there's a much bigger problem that is clear to most coaches. We aren't getting calls from the Pitino's of the world anymore.
  7. Said the same thing after another game, but 11-2. Unfortunately, Devonte has not grown. Phin has not shown up this year, but I still have confidence he'll be an excellent upperclassmen. TJD potential departure is a major concern. Going to take big improvements from Al, Phin, and Armaan for us to have success this year and next.
  8. What big names were even mentioned? Holtman and Marshall were probably the only other two legitimate names that came up.
  9. This is the most telling sign of them all. There's a serious problem and no one wants a part of it.
  10. This couldn't be more wrong. This fanbase truly believes the only way for us to get back to greatness is the inside out approach. Lack of in-state recruiting was probably the top factor for Crean losing the fans outside of the inconsistency.
  11. Could you imagine being posterized like that by Gelon? Gotta just go back to the locker room, change, go home, and never touch a basketball again.
  12. Neutral site games are trash. There’s no Wat Shot magic if it’s played in Lucas Oil. Happy to mix in a neutral site game when you make it a unique and exciting location - an hour up the road from your campus is just pointless. Even playing it in some tiny historic high school gym would be a cool event.
  13. You’ve lobbed a few yourself. There are some on this board that have earned it.
  14. Just pointing out it’s not an either or situation and the Gavitt Games + Crossroad Classic + ACC Challenge usually has us facing at least a top 20 team and two tournament teams every year.
  15. IU has played in the Crossroads AND KU, UNC, or Duke plenty of times since 2011 or something.
