Iubb Flashbacks?

Recommended Posts

The recent developments at iu remind me what happened to them almost 10 years ago the last three or so seasons minus off court issues.

2001-02-2011-12 both were surprising seasons that brought excitement among iu fans about the future.

2002-2012 were both hyped recruiting classes headlined by a mcdonalds all american that featured other solid players that never developed as much as people wanted.

2002-03-2012-13 Both season started with high expectations with both returning most of team the year before and a great recruiting class i mentioned before. Both started great only to disappoint at the end of the season to the displeasure of fans.

03-04 13-14- Both teams lost alot of players but returned sixth man( sheehey, moye) and both kept their star players (wright,Yogi) so both had high expectations only for both to flame out and both to miss the nit and ncaa tournament. I hope its not true but the similarities are spooky and the 2004-05 season that ended in the NIt could be our future fate the upcoming 14-15 season. thoughts?

Yea i see no way this team can flame out. We literally have a backcourt that is more than twice as good and deep as last year. And yes, that is science.

I never said they would this season but there is no denying last years team let fatigue get to them finishing 3-7 in the last 10 games, i believe that we will be better than last years but the similarities are there and we are not in anyway a lock for the tourney.

Terrible final stretch. I think half the team just gave in at that point. We all know Noah went out like a cheap set of Christmas lights. I hate to speak ill of a former iu player but he will be one I quickly forget about. Nothing about that guy was "hoosier" to me. Terrible continuity last year. You could see that early on when the bench wasn't even standing up and clapping or hollering when someone nailed a clutch 3 or made an awesome play. Watch the bench tonight during the game. This team is ready to play ball.

Edit: they did get up for a few games like Wisconsin at home but few and far inbetween. That is a sign of a team not getting along or so immature that when they get down by 10 they are already mentally defeated.
