Evan Crawford - Retired

Evan played OF for the Hoosiers from 2007-2009 and was originally drafted by the Giants in the 9th round of the 2009 amateur draft. He has played for a few different teams in the Independent League that is not affiliated w/the MLB.

Looks like Evan is leaving the River City Rascals of the Frontier League and heading to the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic league.

After starting this season with the River City Rascals in the Independent Frontier League, Crawford was traded to the Ducks on Aug. 2 for outfielder Jon Myers. The Ducks also acquired pitcher Tommy Organ and a player to be named.
 
Since joining the Ducks, Crawford was hitting .421 in 38 at-bats entering Thursday. He had driven in three runs and scored eight. Crawford hit .238 in 57 games with River City.

Crawford joined the Ducks in August of 2014. During 15 games with Long Island, he batted .378 with three RBI, eight runs, two doubles and seven stolen bases. The 26-year-old hit safely in each of his first eight games with the Ducks and reached base safely in all but two games. 
 
Prior to his time on Long Island, Crawford spent all of 2013 and the beginning of 2014 with the River City Rascals of the Frontier League. He combined to post a .273 batting average with five home runs, 43 RBI, 69 runs, 22 doubles and 41 stolen bases in 130 games. The St. Louis native has previously played in the San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs organizations, reaching as high as Single-A with both. An alum of Indiana University, Crawford was originally drafted by the Giants in the ninth round of the 2009 amateur draft.

Evan was traded to the Riversharks a month or so ago and got his 1st HR against his former team last night.
