What Does it Mean to Play for Indiana?

Recommended Posts

Yeah, we won that game against an elite 8 team/B1G champ. Awful job by coach in that one. Didn't we learn that the barber shop guys for hickory high thought they were knowledgeable and knew the team but actually knew nothing? Remember when they tried to run Coach Dale out of town? Not the group I'd want to be compared to. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners

Never confuse IU fans and alumni of not being knowledgeable about the game of basketball. No amount of excuses(too young, lights too bright), blaming players, or sweet 16 rings will change the product on the floor that we watch and comment about. Year 6 was a complete bust anyway you look at it so it doesn't take a coaching guru to figure it out. Next year can't get here fast enough which gets us 1 year closer to what IU baskeball is all about. "Its Indiana" is all that needs to be said.

This ring thing is stupid. Tons of teams get tournament rings, conference title rings, etc. Cal gave out Elite 8 rings at UK. People spend too much time worrying about what other people might think.

And no, being like the barber shop in Hoosiers isn't something to brag about.

It means that Indiana is was and always will be the pinnacle of college basketball. However, maybe we should just get some one and done athletes that could bring championships...or we could just get a better bunch of athletes, and not just "settle."
