Michael Sam Comments

Recommended Posts

If you haven't already heard, Mizzou player Michael Sam has come out of the closet and will be entering the NFL draft this spring. I'm bringing this up because this video of this Dallas Newscaster is absolutely amazing.

Also, please keep this thread PG, if you feel CRAZY strong about this issue one way or another, please don't post trolling messages. I just wanted to share with you all a really good piece.

I applaud Sam and actually hope the Bears pick him up in a middle-late round. We need the pass-rush and he was co-SEC defensive player of the year. I can roll with that.

Definitely a wave of the future. Hopefully will lead to more players coming out when they see it isn't so bad. I mean if Riley Cooper can survive... I doubt Michael Sam will have any problems lol

When guys say "if he can play, we don't care" I think they really mean it. There are criminals, literally, in NFL locker rooms, so a few people per locker room being gay shouldn't cause any problems. There are always the Richie Incognito's, though.

The way I see it is if he can improve your team then draft him, if not then don't. Whether I agree or disagree with his sexual orientation doesn't matter. The name of the game is winning football games and inevitably a Super Bowl.

Exactly. I don't know how it is there but the news showed a 5 minute John Elway interview saying as such. Let's face it, if a public figure said otherwise they would be crucified and it would be career suicide.

I'm currently in TX and very close to where Sam is from so everything around here has been mostly positive statements.
