How To Beat A Zone

Recommended Posts

Chuck my dude it's not just the zone offense I agree it is bad but there aren't any shooters on this team. It's all about tempo for this team. We have so many super athletic guys that we will score a ton a of points at the basket in transition and when indiana goes up against teams like Cuse, wisky, northwestern we have struggled. Same could be said for those teams as they struggle when the pace is hectic and they can't set up their defense and are forced to take quick shots to catch up.

The thing is that we didn't even do anything very different from last year... They just don't understand zone offense, shooters help for sure but you have to get penetration, which we rarely did. You don't need shooters to beat a zone. If we ran a good offense we have enough talent to at least not get blown out.

Uh, if you don't have somebody hitting the outside shot, the zone just collapses and that makes it very tough to get penetration. We got "blown out" cause we stopped playing after the half. Doesn't really matter what style of offense you run, if you don't come to play, you probably lose.
