[Class of '66 Old Fart]

Gardner did not start but did play in his first game since Dec. 19, and scored a game and career high 24 pts. as Fishers defeated Hamilton SE 75-65 and faces Carmel this evening for the sectional championship.  Able to practice the past few weeks, Gardner checked in midway through the first quarter and contributed by shooting 8 of 12 from the floor and 7-for-11 from the foul line while grabbing five rebounds.  Cooper Zachary added 17 pts for Fishers.

What a ballgame!  Carmel defeats Fishers 50-49 and ends Fishers undefeated season.  Really physical game.  In the first half there was a scrum on the far sideline between Cooper Zachary and a Carmel player.  Carmel's 6th man left the bench and ran across the court and was ejected as a result.  After Gardner's strong game last night after a long absence, he struggled tonight.  Finished with 13p but missed 7 FGA almost all at the rim.  He also had 4r,  1a, 1s, 4t.  Cooper Zachary also an off night for him with just 8p,  3r, 1a,  2s.  Kai McGrew was the big gun for Fishers tonight with 22 of Fishers' 49 points.
