But, we've had this problem for decades. While Bob Knight was winning, the IU football program struggled to win six games every year as we kept swapping out coaches every four years until Bill Mallory showed up, and athletics was like "well... it'd be nice if we could find someone who could win... but we'll always have the Rose Bowl", and bear in mind that college football, while big, wasn't the corporate leviathan it is today. When our college basketball program was going through its down period here in the 2000s as coach after coach failed, we could have tried to invest some additional funding into the football program as an insurance policy in the event basketball ever slipped back into the single digit win seasons, but besides the obligatory stadium upgrades as a result of the Big Ten Network (not to mention Michael McRobbie's general hatred of sports in general), we just chose not to. This university always talks in riddles about their non-existent support for football. It's like, they don't want to support it, but they don't want to be public about it, either, knowing that saying it will cause them to become another UConn.

Oh, don't worry; he'll just bring in a bunch of JUCO guys and benchwarmers from the portal, like always. And then have yet another quarterback struggle as the team goes 1-11.

That is pretty much the case. The buyout is likely keeping Allen around, and even if Allen does get fired, I doubt Indiana University makes much of an effort to hire a significant coach.

Yeah, he was a ******* creep and an *******, but this university has shown countless times that sexual harassment was to be tolerated because standards went out the damn window and we have no semblance of common sense or human decency. I mean, after all, remember all the **** Bob Knight was allowed to do to people for decades because he won us a few national titles? And, guess what? This is par for the course for most universities. If you win games, you get away with this kind of wretched stuff until you either A) start losing or B) make a total @$$ of yourself.

He saved us from Bill Lynch. He's my hero.

Since it's pretty clear that all you care about is LEO instead of WINNING, then go on ahead.

Because I've seen so many people in my life who preach morality but never practiced it themselves to the point I became absolutely cynical about religion. If you want to view Kevin Wilson with absolute contempt, that's on you, but at least he was getting us places before he imploded. Tom Allen is giving us the worst of both worlds; losing games in humiliating fashion and lecturing us about piety while being a jerk himself.

If there is one thing that makes me happy its that Tom Allen is slowly losing his voice as the season progresses.

I absolutely hate Tom Allen as a coach... and as a person, because if he truly Loved Each Other, he would recognize that he's hurting our program and either walk away or recognize that at least part of this team's downfall is on him.
