You're right, if we don't get significantly better fast. -

From what I've seen, he puts up numbers because he had weak team mates (sound familiar?) and was trying his best to win. The next coach should definitely contact him, or one of the assistants should now. Back to Brad. -

I'm still up (from HSN) and watching MSU try to give away their game. Just haven't posted in a while because I don't have anything new to add. But I sure enjoy all the banter. -

Once this saga is over, and we have a decision, I'd like to ask @IUwins0708 & @Chris007 if they can share what the deciding factor was (pro or con) to the decision. Something obvious like money, or an intangible like going home? -

After thinking about it, it's probably a jet from a high $$$ donor for TT. -

I've heard Phillips a number of times and I'm under-whelmed with him. Often times he makes stuff up to suit his opinion. And as a previous poster just said "No ____, it's up to Brad". Mr Obvious strikes again. -

Now I'm concerned. YOU feel better because Rabjohns opened his pie-hole? I was firmly of the impression that you, and IUwins0708, were/are the best connected of anyone. (other than Dolson himself) -

IF...IF...we get Stevens, I'll bet a $1 to a donut that the PU guys will say something along the lines of Stevens was a looser at Boston, so it's fitting he's going to the Hoosiers. -

Man...you don't have ANY patience at all ! I thought I owned that trait. It's only been what...3 days since Archie got fired? We've gone from "No way in hell", to "will he listen", to an "alleged" meeting (or more), to insiders saying "it's looking real good". That's one helluva journey in 3 days. -

I share a lot of all of your enthusiasm in getting Stevens. But there are so many things that can still throw a wrench into this right up to the minute of the formal announcement. No inside info here, just life experiences in negotiating contracts, offers, promises, etc. What really makes me feel good is that IU is trying its darnedest to get the best guy possible. And even if it's plan B, I'll still be elated. -

Sorry Scott. There's nothing, and no one that is going to shut up the press other than God. Prayer might help... -
Signed up, but waiting until Friday to fill it out. Why ? Hell if I know...

Ok, no doubt we should be getting a top quality coach this time. (whoever it is). My question is can the new coach motivate and turn our current roster around? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the guys on the team. Some of them are just too "nice", or "not competitive enough" for my liking. Do you guys think there will need to be a major overhaul of the roster in order to get us at a competitive level to win the B1G and compete in the NCAA's next year? Personally, I think Leal, Lander, and Geronimo got screwed out of a lot of playing time they could have gotten. The upper class men made just as many defensive mistakes, and offensive lapses as the freshman. But that's just me.

If I knew what a tweet was, I might try that. But I don't twitter, I don't facebook, tic-toc, text, or any of that garbage. It's nothing more than "management by interruption". email is just fine. But if I knew India's email address, I would certainly invite her to join us.

Take it from a guy older than Beilein. My mind is sharp as a tack. I saw plenty of things in IU's offense and defense that Archie didn't see. Now, by body is a different $___-hole. But don't hold Beilein's age against him. True, he won't be a 20 year guy, but he could get us on the right track for a great assistant to "carry on".

Been outside for an hour, and it took me 2½ hours to catch up on this one thread. As I stated 40 pages ago, this is a new kind of "March Madness". Just hope we don't all go into a funk, if it falls thru with Stevens.

I don't want to rain on you guys Stevens parade, but if he's not the next coach, you guys will need a shrink to bring you all off of the ledge.

From this old fart's perspective, there could not be a better time to come to IU as a coach. Program is, and has been a dumpster fire for quite a while (some say decades), certainly for many years. It appears we have a stable of talent on the roster, just not being developed at all. Armaan reportedly hired his own personal trainer during the lockdown and over the summer to improve his shot. Appears to have worked. So a new coach wouldn't have to clean house, he may just need to focus more on player development and install an offense that doesn't dribble the logo off the ball on each possession, and a defense that understands that you it's possible to play defense before your man gets the ball. And then there is the issue of rebuilding the IU culture. Fanbase, coaches, staff, the brand. I'm not all that familiar with Stevens style of coaching, like many of you, but whoever we get, I think it's entirely possible to turn this team around in year 2 to be a contender again. My biggest concern with Stevens is, if he's the right guy to rebuild the IU culture. Could be, I just don't have a sense of it.

I hope that India Franklin finds this board. She participated (a little) on a couple of others, like HSN I think. I know she was on the Inside the Hall board at one time. I'd also like to hear from Mrs Leal. Met her at the Hoosier Hysterics event in Bloomington right after Anthony committed. Both are outstanding parents of what I think will be great players for IU.
