  1. I know you're joking but I'll still add why it wouldn't be Walsh. Hunter and Rosemond both have Associate Head Coach titles, Walsh does not. It would definitely be one of those 2 who would end up as interim HC.
  2. What does that even mean? There is now no way Woodson will be the coach next year, it's already public that he won't be. Does it mean he wants to "make some noise" with the team by winning some games? In that case, what is he actually going to do differently than he was doing before? What he's been doing wasn't working. Is he going to start trying all of a sudden? In that case, he should be fired for not putting in the effort until he was being shown the door. I guess some of the last few games look winnable, just like last year. So maybe they could win some games and feel like they turned it around when it was actually just a favorable schedule. I don't really care what Woodson does at this point. He won't be the coach after this year. I don't think he can fix his image/coaching legacy in the last few games. It's more likely it's just more embarrassment for himself.
  3. But IU fans are not delusional or living in the past by expecting better than what they’ve gotten over the last two-plus decades. There’s no reason Indiana cannot be at least a periodic contender for national titles and Final Fours, and a regular contender in the Big Ten.
  4. Yes, the Celtics should fire him then IU should hire him.
  5. Given the choices as interim coach, it pretty much is. Do you really think one of those assistant coaches could turn it around?
  6. I'm relieved that Woodson will be done (officially) at the end of the season. Now I'm steeling myself for the disappointing hire that will likely follow. At least I have some time to prepare myself since that's more than a month away.
  7. I'm willing for IU to spend as much of other people's money as is needed to make it happen. They should spare no expense.
  8. Wait a second. You're calling other people clowns? That rich coming from you. I'm still waiting for the greatness we were promised for this season. Looks like your 22 wins and S16 floor won't be reached. You fell for the Woodson is a good coach crap and tried to shove it in our faces. You seriously don't have the credibility to call anyone else a clown.
  9. A fight between players? Assistant coaches? An assistant coach and Woodson? Looks like it's even more out of control than it appears from the outside.
  10. Is this a picture of the whiteboard used by the coaching staff when brainstorming what's wrong with the team and how to fix it? Top notch coaching.
  11. Typical Peegs trying to con people into paying for info they can get free elsewhere.
  12. But we want it now. Won't someone think of the poor fans?
  13. Some of you are grasping at straws that Mike Woodson being forced to resign/retire before the end of the season means that Dolson has Stevens lined up to take the job. One has nothing to do with the other. College coaches are pushed out during the season quite often and the schools don't have the next permanent coach ready to be hired.
  14. I know of a guy that has NBA and NCAA head coaching experience. Former player. Now unemployed. Maybe we should look to hire Mike Woodson?
  15. Slide deck is such a terrible term. I blame Woodson for that.
  16. If this is true, my reaction is, "what a child."
  17. Whales are quite large so an enormous plane would be needed to carry a white whale. Just sayin'...
  18. It just so happens that he is a really bad coach, sooo....
  19. All they have to do is say "resign" instead of "retire" even though everyone knows he's not going to be looking for another job after this so a resignation is essentially retirement.
  20. Full time, not interim. Maybe read before posting.
  21. Seriously, why would they want any of the assistants to be full time HC? Hunter - 8 years with a poorly run, unsuccessful IU program (2 bad coaches) Rosemond - 4 years with a poorly run, unsuccessful IU program (1 bad coach) Walsh - 8 years with a poorly run, unsuccessful IU program (2 bad coaches) Nothing there really screams, "hire me!" They'd just be a continuation of the past 2 bad coaches. I agree that IU won't make that mistake.
  22. It's a fake tweet from @tweetgenerator He's said he's a family friend. Close friend of Todd Yeagley.
  23. It's surprising how many think that IU will have the next coach lined up when it's announced that Woodson will not be the coach next year. I very much doubt that they will. If it's not Stevens, everyone else will be busy coaching with games left in the season. Don't they need permission from the schools to interview the coach? They might have something tentative in place, but I don't see them doing formal negotiations and job offer while Woodson is still publicly the coach. Can you imagine if that leaked? It would look terrible both for IU and the guy agreeing to a job while coaching in-season at another school. We've been through plenty of coaching changes and have seen at plenty of other schools to know how it goes. They're not going to say, "Woodson is retiring at the end of the year at which point X will take over as IU's Head Coach of the future." Even speculation about the IU job being open at the end of the year will likely result in questions for several coaches, especially May.
