I highly doubt there was that meeting. You don't go to subordinates to check if they want to fill in temporarily before firing their boss. You fire their boss then see who wants to fill in. Someone will take the position and, since it's only temporary, it doesn't matter who. One of them would see this as a way to jumpstart their career to move from a role as AC to HC.

I think that if IU loses the rest of the games in25+ point blowouts, he'll stay. They'll look at his record setting ways and extend him. The contract will give him a $20M/year raise. Ideally he would but he doesn't seem to know what the problems are. He also doesn't know what the fixes are to not winning. That's why we get the same vague answers after every loss. He even said so himself recently. "I wish I knew" in response to the team's poor play against Illinois.

Yep, they'd still be coached by this staff and have to play in this system. That does bad things to good players.

We will get blown out multiple times between now and the end of the season. This team has been shown to be able to get motivated and play well enough to win for a game or two. UNC has the type of standards about winning that iU should have. If he'd had Woodson's record he wouldn't be their coach this year.

I don't think that list is complete. It's missing the 50 point, 106-56 beat down IU got at Minnesota in 1994 at the very least. That said, 3 25+ point losses in a single season is ridiculous. It's even more ridiculous with the preseason expectations of this team based on "winning" the portal.
