That is the false narrative that IU fans don't give coaches a chance before turning on them. People were very patient with Crean and many still don't count the first three years. Miller and Woodson were given over two years before the grumbling really started. With any coach, there is that small minority which are unhappy from the start.

The schools have to process the portal request within two days. So it can take two days but I don't know how typical that is. I would guess it's actually unusual. There is also nothing stopping players who are entering the portal to make the info public themselves.

Rabby says he's hearing that DeVries will be meeting with his AD today. That is interesting but it doesn't really mean anything. It could be to inform the AD that he's taking another job (either IU or Iowa) or that he's staying at WV.

Pagoda is the new NGW! You need to work on being more contrary, condescending, and combative, though. lol

Did it work? The gun for that game uses the screen refresh of CRT TVs to determine if you hit or miss. I wouldn't think that would work on a modern TV.

Maybe he'll take the IU job when we're doing this again in 4 years. lol

They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread
go iu bb replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He certainly didn't have to take the job. I wish he hadn't. -
The Woodson thread got locked. Edit: It looks like it's been unlocked. Never mind.

Devries would be a good hire but an A+? Could end up being an A+ but he certainly wouldn't be an A+ hire from the start.

Pretty much everyone whose job it is to cover IU and NCAA basketball in general who have talked about the IU coaching search have said that the IU side is very quiet so they're not getting info there. That means that pretty much everyone being talked about is coming from external sources such as agents. It is beneficial for agents' clients to be associated with the IU job. The clients might want the job, hope that being thought of in connection with IU will get them a job somewhere else, or maybe just to try to get a raise/extension from their current employer. The chances are good that the people we're talking about won't be the next IU coach.

I ran in to Dolson earlier. I asked him who the next coach was going to be. He just sighed and said, "You're going to be disappointed." Okay, not really.

Does that mean there are 20 pages worth of hidden posts in this thread?

@Home Jersey called it! lol

Wear gloves when you do.

Can we say, "Your post is terrible because you smell like dead fish and type funny and suck and I haaaaate you!"? Asking for a friend.

We need a coach that can do well with top end program spending behind him.

Rabby is saying that the players can't enter the portal until the 24th. Man, he is totally clueless and wrong. Yet again.

I've been told my whole life that salt is unhealthy so I guess that means I just have to believe everything said on this board. Living in fantasy land and as well as the mood swings are surely more healthy than salt.

Yes, they can enter before it opens for everyone else since the coach left. They basically get a week more than everyone else to decide if they want to stay or go.
-
Since the coach left, I'm pretty sure they can enter the portal now and don't have to wait a week. I guess it depends on when Woodson is officially no longer the coach but I believe that is now since they've played their last game.

It's funny. 20 minutes ago Rabby posted that Tucker said that he's not in the portal. Then 10 minutes ago he posted that people at IU said he is. Maybe he's getting Creaned, but that seems odd without a HC in place. Either way, it looks like Rabby has no f'in clue what's going on at IU. Not ideal when your job is covering IU.

Is anyone surprised that the AD of UNC is corrupt? This is the school of fake classes, after all. Besides, if IU's administration can be corrupt, it makes sense that the administrations at schools like UNC would be too.

I'm not your pal, guy!
