And the home NW game wasn't as close as the final score. It was a blow out most of the game -

That makes sense since the football hires showed the ADs IU has hired across the decades don't really know what they're looking for in a coach. They happened to get lucky with Knight but once he was gone the football hiring incompetence also became basketball hiring incompetence. -

I want one to ask if he can join the cigar and wine party that Woodson is going to that night. -

I see they say they have to get to work, did they say IU has to get over the hump? -

Women off to a good start at the B1G Championship meet. 3rd and 1st in the 200 Medley and 800 free relays, respectively. NCAA A cuts in both. After day, IU is in the lead with 118 points followed by OSU (116) and UM (112). The championship should be between those 3 schools but mostly IU and OSU. https://swimswam.com/2024-womens-big-ten-championships-day-1-finals-live-recap/ -

Yes, they would have to release him but these days that is pretty much automatic if a player requests it. The schools and coaches who don't get dragged in the media (rightfully, imo) for being a$$holes. They could also just step on campus and then enter the transfer portal so it doesn't make any sense to deny a release. Even if that wasn't the case, forcing someone to be there who doesn't want to be is a bad idea, especially for a struggling program. -

The only Mike Woodson I know is Mike Woodson the coach. At this point, I don't like him much. He seems arrogant and like he doesn't care too much about doing a good job. Doesn't like to recruit. Pictures of him lounging around smoking cigars and drinking wine with his buddies after a loss just rubs the wrong way. Some things that seemed eccentric when he was first hired I now view as proof of his egotism, like referring to himself in the third person and forcing Dolson to fly out to meet him instead of coming to IU to interview. That last one, especially, because it's not like he was highly sought after is just a power play to stroke his ego. No, I don't love him. I want him gone. -

My point exactly. A lot of fans, myself included, were like you early in the season. We thought he'd get it figured out and turned around. Instead, we're seeing the same thing (possibly worse) and hearing the same vague answers after loses with more blaming of the players. That benefit of the doubt that many gave him early this season won't be there. I can't believe the administration doesn't see this. If they don't, there is a serious disconnect between them and the fans. -

At least in the offseason this past year there was reason for optimism even though a lot was being replaced from last year. That means it took a while before fans turned negative en masse. Woodson and company won't have that next season. When they play poorly in the pre-conference portion of the season, there will be lots of people complaining and just go downhill from there. It'll get ugly. -

That's correct. Hunter has been labeled as a great recruiter but he hasn't really landed many in the time he's been at IU so I'm not buying that. I think it was a mistake to keep him. -

It'll be more of the same as this year. 2/3 of the way through the season we'll be hearing the "it's a new team" excuse. I am starting to think that Woodson got mixed up initially when he said 4-out 1-in on offense and actually meant 4-in 1-out. -

That says top 80. The thing is, Woodson doesn't seem to care unless they're top 30. So he goes for highly ranked guys and doesn't have a backup when he misses. Also, most of those were spring decommitments from other schools (quick recruitment) so his numbers for a normal recruitment are even worse. -

Dude, he makes around $500k/year. If he quits, do you think he's getting another job paying that amount? I doubt anyone wants him as their AD. -

Yeah, I was born in '77 so didn't start school until the '80s. Living in AZ, I got sent home from work early once because of expected rain.

More like a 33% raise. It also extended his 100% buyout by a year. Additionally, Woodson received additional buyout protections. Under the terms of his original deal, Woodson would have been owed 100% of remaining guaranteed compensation before April 1, 2025, and 50% thereafter. Last year’s renegotiation pushed the 100% promise to April 1, 2026, than 50% for the remaining year of the deal. For reference, on April 1 of this year, his buyout would stand at roughly $12.6 million. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2024/02/20/indiana-basketball-mike-woodson-says-not-walking-away-from-job-buyout-details-contract-iu-hoosiers/72671079007/ -

I grew up in Monroe County and only got snow days when there was a decent amount of snow on the ground or when we. Not anywhere near what you describe from NH, but certainly more than a dusting. I wonder if there was significantly more snow expected that day. I spent a winter in Augustus, GA. The whole place shut down when there was very little snow. You could still see most of the ground and roads underneath. Wind would clear off the roads. Basically, what I would describe as a slight dusting. It was crazy, I couldn't believe that was enough to shut everything down.

Hey! Those temperatures are negative, not positive! Only positives allowed. I'm positive that is cold. Fun fact: 40 below zero (did it without the negative lol) is the point at which Celsius and Fahrenheit are the same.
