  1. I hope the players and coaching staff don't take us seriously, either.
  2. The fees for ticker services have long been ridiculous. I've gotten "cheap" tickets from ticketmaster and paid as much or more in fees making them no longer cheap. $410 in fees is taking it to a whole new level, though.
  3. Slight correction: ASU should have been seeded 11th since Clemson is properly seeded 12th. I think that is one of the first corrections we'll see. The byes will no longer go the top 4 conference champions, but instead the top 4 ranked teams. We'll see the seeding match the rankings. I wonder if they'll also go away from weekly updates before the announcements. That kind of locks the committee in to certain rankings for teams. If they hadn't done that, Alabama might have gotten in instead of SMU. I think they got it right but I bet they wanted to put Bama in but just couldn't because of rankings from before the conference championship.
  4. Do you think the schools can get 40k+ fans to travel up to 4 times? Most of the fans of any school aren't rich. They can't be spending several thousands of dollars on travel plus tickets that many times. Many won't, especially since the games are on TV. Some of the schools that get to the playoff have large, passionate fanbases but I guess we'll see how well they travel that much in a short period of time. In your example, those neutral stadiums work because they're close to both schools. What if the neutral site was in California or Florida? If anything, when they make changes they may make the second round games as on-campus instead of bowl games. The NCAAT can fill the seats because they have more than 1 game/2 teams at each site and quite a bit fewer seats to fill. They also have multiple rounds within a few days at the same site. More bang for the buck for those that go.
  5. Good thing BC said that Woodson is a drunk and CCC climbs the largest mountain... oh, you mean a different high. Well, anyways, if we combine the two we might have a good basketball coach. Take Woodson's coaching prowess, work ethic, willingness to adapt and listen to assistants and combine that with Cignetti's basketball knowledge.... hmm, maybe not that combo. Woodson's basketball knowledge combined with Cignetti's coaching ability, work ethic, willingness to adapt and listen to assistants? That might work.
  6. Do you think he's calling CCC a mountain climber? No, of course not. It's a metaphor, so is the part about Woodson.
  7. Yeah, they and Texas have nice routes to the final. Oregon kind of got screwed. They have the hardest path of any of the top 4 seeds.
  8. I'm enjoying reading the articles of 'Bama crying like little *******. Apparently, they're blaming their non-conference schedule since their solution is to change how they schedule that. A few things: Their non-con schedule wasn't very tough All 3 losses were in conference They lost to 2 6-6 teams They got blown out late in the season against one of those 6-6 teams
  9. I wonder how the King of Indiana feels about the football team getting all the love and attention.
  10. IU are ~1 TD dogs (+7.5) https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-playoff-odds-games-lines-texas-ohio-state-notre-dame-penn-state-sizable-home-favorites/
  11. Yeah, no way they wanted to set that precedent. Plus, the CFP chair is Michigan AD Warde Manuel.
  12. Their name isn't Indiana.
  13. IU going to ND and Alabama is out. Worked out just the way I wanted. I like it.
  14. Well, yes, they went from terrible to very good in a week. They were terrible when they lost to IU (how else can you explain losing to IU??) but very good when they beat OSU. Obviously. So no credit to IU for the win but a quality loss that doesn't really count as a loss for OSU.
  15. Yeah, if you're ND or in the SEC losses don't count.
  16. For sure. It's just that squeaking into the tournament with a high likelihood of getting blown out in the first weekend and pretty much no chance at making a run doesn't really excite me.
  17. If ND gets the 5 seed, it'll further show that it's not so much who you lose to so much as when you lose. At least, if you are one of the big name schools. Losing at home to NIU and getting the 5 seed? Ridiculous if it happens and the chances it happens is high.
  18. He has a personality?
  19. On top of that, you need to be able to compete against those teams in order to make any sort of run in the tournament if you make it. Instead, the 2 times Woodson has gotten there we've been blown out early. I expect that will happen again if we make it this year although that's a big if.
  20. Dang. It sure would have been funny to see PU lose their top choice to UCF.
  21. The automatic byes are so dumb because of situations like this. 1 bye will go to teams that wouldn't have been in as an at large bid and the possibility is there for more than 1.
  22. Oh, really? When I googled him I saw an article from yesterday saying he was who UCF was targeting. I guess that writer was misinformed.
  23. UCF is going after him to. Which is a more attractive job, UCF or PU? I guess we'll find out.
  24. I wanted them to lose, but lose close. Fail.
  25. I think this will change. I think the current setup is only for this year and next, maybe even just this year (I don't remember which). A lot of people have seen the issues you posted here.
