  1. At this point, Dolson is pretty much having his hand forced. When the media starts putting out stories that the coach needs to be fired while the team is getting blown out week after week, how can he credibly justify keeping Allen while also pretending IU cares about football? It just isn't possible. If Allen stays, the stories will be about how IU is fine having a terrible football program which would further sink the program. But then Dolson will have an excuse to not spend money on a coaching search and just promote an assistant coach to head coach on the cheap. The IU way. Which bad assistant coach will be IU's next bad head coach?
  2. IDK. Maybe disco is making a comeback?
  3. Johnson, Mgbako, and ... I only have 2, which one am I forgetting?
  4. UVA intercepts it with 26 seconds left to win.
  5. They need to bring someone in who will tighten things up.
  6. Going on last year, LCS undervalues IU's talent and overvalues other teams' talent.
  7. Tom Allen is overpaid but that was after the extension. They hire cheap and go cheap on assistant coaches.
  8. Until then, we have IU football to tide us over.
  9. It isn't already? News to me.
  10. /shrug Let him go. I expect when Allen isn't fired at the end of the season there will be a mass exodus.
  11. It's not HIS fault the QBs (/offense as a whole/defense/special teams) continue to disappoint so the only solution is to try another QB. He already changed OC so that must not be the problem. It's obviously the players.
  12. Hmm, you would willingly hit him with your car but you're questioning another's morals? Interesting. Kevin Wilson sucked as a coach and probably isn't a good person. Tom Allen sucks as a coach and doesn't seem like a good person with his willingness to throw everyone under the bus instead of being accountable for the team he's in charge of.
  13. I don't like either one. His unwillingness to be accountable for the team's performance as the HC while being quick to blame everyone but himself shows his true character, imo. LEO isn't real.
  14. IU should use some of that $20M they're not spending to fire Allen to build better basketball facilities. If they are willing to let football be this bad, the basketball needs to be elite.
  15. Competition in the MAC would be too difficult for IU.
  16. Was Newton participating in activities?
  17. So you think that missing on this one player will be the downfall of Woodson? I find that doubtful. It would also be better for Woodson to be successful during his time at IU. That way he can hand off a team with talent and, hopefully, recent success in recruiting to his replacement whenever he does move on. So I'm not really seeing the "huge positive" that you are. I think IU will be fine without this guy but I don't think missing on him after prioritizing him instead of other guards is a positive.
  18. He's already tall for a shooting guard and he has a +3 wingspan so he can be very disruptive defensively. But if he shoots as poorly as he did last season, that'll put him back on the bench. He needs to at very least shoot well enough to not be an offensive liability.
  19. I hope his shot making abilities do too.
  20. I keep seeing Perry's name thrown around after the Fland miss. Is Perry better than a sophomore Cupps? It seems like going the portal route for a PG would be the better option but I don't know which is why I'm asking. I don't know if he'd even be a realistic option at this point. Probably not.
  21. One and done has been a thing for how long now? Since 2006? And some people still don't get it.
  22. The staff being confident doesn't mean they think he's a lock or that they landed him. It just means they think they have a good chance. They put a lot of effort into this recruitment so feeling confident would be understandable.
  23. I doubt that happened. It also supposedly happened with Ledlum (which I also don't buy). So in 6 months, 2 separate recruits told the IU staff they were going to commit to IU then backed out soon after? Seems like a stretch. The IU staff can feel confident about the recruit committing even without the recruit committing. It seems more likely others read that confidence as a commitment happened even though it hadn't.
  24. Maybe IU can use some to that ~$21M they save by not firing Tom Allen this year to build some more basketball facilities to help with recruiting.
