I believe he's said he wants to sign during the early signing period so he could announce a school any day within the next week. She is probably there for when that happens. He didn't announce/sign yesterday but she could've come there "early" to support his good friend Liam McNeeley. Queen stayed with the McNeeleys one summer so he's obviously close with that family so it would make sense for McNeeley to also be close to the Queens.

I'm glad he's signed but that video doesn't work for me.

So we should be finding out his choice within the next week if he's going to sign before the spring which I believe it has been stated he wants to do. Any day now...

@Lebowski, is your argument that IU has historically sucked so we can't do better than Tom Allen? That we should be satisfied with Allen as coach because even though he has a terrible record and fields a terrible team, he's the best of the bad by win percentage? That seems to be what you're arguing so if it's not, I'm not getting what you're saying.

Oh, is it winning a bowl game that triggers the automatic extension? That makes me feel much better since I thought it was just making a bowl game that did. I don't know about the financial aspect but I'm assuming the worst since it's a terrible contract already. I know it drops from 100% remaining salary to something like 50% but I don't know if that is a set date or x-many years from the end of the contract. Again, I assume the worst which would be the latter.

If we made a bowl game, Allen would automatically get a 1 year extension so the buyout would be even more. I would guess that it would be about $25-26M now then $20M through the end of next season like it is now. So even just making the bowl game eliminates the chance that Allen would lose his job purely from a financial aspect. Even if they just get close to a bowl game I can see Dolson not firing him this year, saying some crap like, "It was a tough season but there was improvement which gives us confidence next year will be better."

Yes. Winning the next 3 games against bad teams won't change my mind that Tom Allen is a bad coach. Even if IU somehow finds a way to make a bowl, this win will likely be the only win against a good team. If IU makes a bowl, I very much doubt they win. If they somehow defy that expectation, that means it was likely a crappy bowl against another bad team.

It looks like Eric Bossi's evaluation of "just enough of a shot maker to keep defenders honest" is pretty accurate.

I read it as IU is a bad team who plays ugly football, so for IU to have a chance to win the other team would have to be playing just as bad or worse.
