We're not discussing a four year old whose parents should have had a better handle on his discipline. We're talking about an adult who sometimes acted like that four year old throwing a tantrum. While I'm sure the administration(s) could have done more or could have done better, the adult (Knight) bears much of the responsibility as well. We can't say it was all on the administration and absolve him of all the repercussions of his behavior.

Plus, some players who are confident about their draft status will turn down the combine. They will feel there is no need to risk injury.

Yeah, that sort of stuff wasn't going to fly. He had plenty of opportunity and time over the years to change. It just wasn't going to happen. That's on him.

By the rules, the Pacers could not do that, so then he demanded to be traded. He was traded to Portland (for Jermaine O'Neal) where he did the same thing all over again. Why not have expectations for TJD to work on his away from the bucket offense? He wants to get to the next level, right? Well, at the next level he isn't going to cut it as a center. As a 4?, maybe. But that means working on his game away from the bucket.

And usually, when a player gets this much buildup over such a long time, the result is..........disappointing actual performance. AKA, the truth never matches the hype. At least the hype from some of his fans.

That's their arena? I always thought it was a cattle barn. Never figured out why they didn't build a silo next to it so the feed supply was closer to the livestock.
