Transfer Portal w/IU Interest

Even at New Mexico St he played 24 minutes. Would think he's looking for good minutes, not the kind of limited backup role IU is looking for. -
Decisions decisions….

I’m just not an Edey fan at all for the NBA. We’ll see what he does once he’s drafted, but he’s way too plodding imo, no real versatility to his game, will get pulled outside and embarrassed. That he’s going to get drafted at all is a lot better than last season, I just don’t see it. Especially with Wemby, the guy flies down the floor, no one can defend him straight up. He had one game where he was coming down the floor 1 v 3 to the rim and all 3 of those dudes had no idea what to do. If Edey finds minutes imo it will be a team that needs a big to throw at or defend the rim, doesn’t fit in San Antonio imo
-
Was good with it until Edey, nowhere near a starting NBA 5/forward, and way too slow for that team. Wemby is doing things no one has ever done, generational talent, more pieces to move / run around him, not a plodding big that gets by on his size

The thing with Aerosmith - love me some early Aerosmith, before Joe Perry (lead guitar) left the band - is their early jams were great but now I have to kind of just ignore the lyrics— but gonna add Sweet Emotion to my list, such a great tune

I gave up on 10. Optimistically thought maybe could do 15…. Yeah, can’t but gonna keep with it anyway….

And - Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen) - Hey Joe (Hendrix) - Simple Man (Lynyrd Skynyrd)

Knicks can’t win a series like this w/o OG imo. Said it earlier, he’s the difference maker. Brunson can put up shot but it’s OG’s elite 3 and D wing play that rounds that team into a really solid group

Adding on - Enter Sandman (Metallica) Just for @Demo’s deathbead list: Don’t Worry Be Happy!

Keep coming back to trying to put together a top 15 all time rock tunes (can’t just do 10 not enough) the ones I keep coming back to and never get old for me, the ones that I can’t help singing along with in the car, force themselves from background sound to getting my attention, doesn’t really matter what time of day it is. when thinking about the songs I try not to overvalue the band (like how could I not have have at least 1 Stones tune in it - I do though I keep switching out which one), or undervalue the song bc the band wasn’t one of the heavyweights. Starting out just have 2 right now — Come Together (Beatles) Roxanne (Police, but damn what a tune, and when Sting first started it, it was a ballad) make it 3, Hotel California (Eagles) ok four, for Stones going with Sympathy for the Devil

Police were investigating it as an assault (which it was). Not sure where that stands but if one of the fans decided to ask for an arrest and prosecution that’s a pretty clear case

Good article. I remember well the back and forth on whether Crean’s summer programs and practices were too much, weighed along with how well he / his system developed guys. This is where the idea that some throw out that it was just the players, like Vic, it was entirely the player not the development, comes up empty. A guy like Vic had an incredible work ethic, but so do many guys at this level, it’s how they got here. How that work ethic and athleticism is developed can be the difference in whether the same player ever reaches his potential. Troy for me is a big example. Wildly out of control early on, all athleticism, by the time he got himself into the NBA he had a fairly good outside shot, a much much better handle and a far better understanding of the floor.

I think this is probably right -- I say probably because Woodson has had a tendency to continue to play his starters heavy minutes even when they (whoever) are playing badly. Not trying to turn this into another b**** fest on Woodson, just saying I'm only partially convinced a better player would've played more given Woodson's tendencies -- hoping to see better balance / use of the bench this season, we certainly have a better looking bench so far, and yes, do think we need to add a backup big from portal -

We don’t disagree but that cat’s out of the bag. I don’t like that HS players now have to compete for spots with vet college transfers, but DI isn’t going back to pre-NIL. The problem of the impact of NIL on mid-majors, which I’ve mentioned bf, is not so much a money problem as an impact on the college game as a whole problem. That’s a problem that at least conceivably can be addressed by regulation, limiting the number of transfers or similar regs might help the impact on HS players, but that’s harder to address with NIL out of the bag -

Yeah while you were replying to me I was posting immediately above. NIL is out of control -

Imo NIL is out of control w/o regulation. It’s the Wild West right now. That’ll benefit the individual players, and the programs with money to burn, but it’s bad for the overall college game as is -

Get where you’re coming from, but end of the day you’re worth what the market says you’re worth. -

Was your dad in the movie Breaking Away? :) -
It’ll be difficult if Siakim can’t hit a single FT. He choked away 4 straight in the 4th. That 4 point loss was big going into the final minutes. And the P’s have to block out for God’s sake, ridiculous streak of Knick offensive boards in the 4th. Knicks played with more energy- by a country mile, but despite all of that P’s were right there in the 4th. I expect the P’s energy and attacking game will be much better in Indy - and Knicks prob don’t win tonight without OG’s 1st half, series get interesting in Indy and OG is probably out at least game 3
-
Sucks for OG, having a killer game but now out for rest of game with a sorr hamstring
-
McConnel having a heck of an assist game with some nice crossover scores mixed in for the P’s. 1 point game in the 4th
-
OG has started this game 2 ag the P’s in fire

With all the portal additions and most of the returning players generally playing good minutes, it will be interesting to see to what extent he shortens the bench this season, I'd expect it to be less.
