  1. lol that was my 3 year kid daughter’s favorite saying.
  2. Easily the hands down winner - yep, pun intended
  3. ^^ I think you guys need to turn up your sarcasm meter WatShot is having fun with that post
  4. In several games DeVries altered sets and actions to the competition, that kind of adjustment strategy bodes well. He’s going to run a modern 3-point offense but has been public about getting bigger, we won’t see a 5-out next season that was based on the roster. Fully expect to see the recruiting match what he’s already saying
  5. Some growing parallels with the women’s program under Moren this past season and recruiting to portal this season. - Moren/women had to rebuild largely from scratch before last season, missed the tourney. - Team wasn’t deep enough on talent, size and athleticism to compete in the upper half of the B1G - Headed towards offseason Moren publicly recognized the team needs to get bigger and more athletic. - She brought in a top flight recruiter/new assistant coach, and he hit the ground running — Moren and her staff now already rolling, twice landing highest ever ranked recruit and the overall highest rated class in program history, athleticism and size being addressed - DeVries / team missed the tourney undersized and not athletic enough to compete for the most part in top half of B1G - publicly recognized the team needs to get bigger to compete in conference - he brought in a top flight talent identifying and connected new assistant coach in Carr, who is expected to play a major role in rebuilding the team - both now about to see what they can do in the portal to get the team built well for next season
  6. And there’ll be lots of handwringing here lol
  7. I’m personally on the DeVries train, I think he can grow the program back, but his seat will be scorching hot if we miss the tourney next season, we need to make the tourney. I’ve been flogging the dead horse that coming in he lacked sufficient time, staff and any returning players. This offseason he has most of that. Still doesn’t have a lot in returning players but regardless whether that’s on him, he has at least Sisley and the incoming frosh group, probably Dorn, and the experience of what it takes in the B1G. Time to get us dancing. maybe instead of starting with “lose big” - the old first year coach saying - we now look at his first 3 years as - lose close (year 1) - win close (year 2) - win big (year 3)
  8. Adragna’s great, and a straight shooter. That’s a balanced assessment. I have the same concerns about lack of depth of roster continuity, but the combination of at least Sisley and the pretty decent incoming frosh group should help with growing the culture and institutional knowledge of schemes, sets, style, expectations. And absolutely need to balance the level of incoming talent in the portal with remaining eligibility, class depth. Build right and we should be good for the tourney next season and continuing to get better. Coaching is there, and Carr’s hire and it’s timing should pay big dividends
  9. That all sounds nice, but I was just asking for the $12 Million ;)
  10. And within the past year staff has twice landed the highest ranked player in program history. Very much on the right path in recruiting.
  11. Agree. If we needed 1-2 players around a core sure, but we’re team building
  12. Really need some transparency rules, to go with overall rules regulating the portal.
  13. Give me the $12 Million, I’ll see what I can do…
  14. And she said Indiana University. Not the University of Indiana - always a plus :{
  15. Good to hear, thanks for posting it
  16. Dave I’m a 35- plus year business and commercial litigator. Dismissal with prejudice is a final dismissal of all affected claims. There’s a right of appeal but generally SOL dismissals are upheld - I also haven’ read the opinion so can’t speak directly to it, but with evidence of knowledge of the alleged injury many years prior, sounds highly unlikely that reversal would be likely. SOL’s are there to place a firm time limit on claims
  17. Haven’t read the opinion but dismissal under a SOL is unlikely to be overturned generally. Sounds like an unsuccessful attempted discovery rule exception.
  18. Dismissal with prejudice dismisses all claims permanently
  19. Would be really interested to know how much $ IU has/spends and how in NIL this year. Need more transparency in NIL (and rules but that’s another topic). Those of you who know (I don’t) - sites or people with credible data who track or compare college bball program NIL money and spending?
  20. It’s certainly debatable. MCCollum’s Iowa played a much worse - easier B1G schedule, IU’s conf schedule was significantly more difficult. That’s an actual comp. But McC got to play in the tourney so that is almost exclusively the focus and that’s simply not a comparison . Sure easy to say look he made the EE - and that is fairly impressive. But we don’t know what DeVries could have done in the tourney this year there is no direct tournament comp. Next season should tell us a great deal more - and it really starts in the portal. I was calling out Woodson early for his moronic 2 big no outside shooting “system” with a complete lack of coaching and got all kinds of pushback for a long time - I have zero patience for lousy coaching. DeVries is a good coach, the early calling McC heads and shoulders better is just that, wayyy early and based on a false regular season comp. If DeVries fails next year I’ll likely have a different opinion, but ignoring how he took IU into UCLA, a tourney team, and win there - UCLA’s first home loss in a long time, beat Wisconsin and PU, tourney teams and just looking at overall records in reg season instead of how much weaker Iowa’s schedule obviously was. That’s apples and oranges. McC showed what he can do in the tourney he deserves credit for that, but no he hasn’t shown he’s better than DeVries, that’s way premature and I doubt it holds up. I’m really disappointed in the end of season collapse but I haven’t seen what DeVries can do with a team built with enough time and staff.
  21. “lol” DeVries has a long well-established DI track record, and yes what USPS stated is factual and is an actual comparison of the respective records, which was the point. I’m not going to walk through Iowa’s losses they’re what they are, as is DeVries wins at UCLA, against Wisconsin, against PU. He showed adjustments that led to wins in multiple games. He also lost badly in others - and the teams sometimes lose point applies equally to IU. Iowa’s regular season and McC’s coaching didn’t show he was “heads and shoulders better” than DeVries but sure they got in and we fell out from the same seed position, 9. I saw our players outside Wilkerson inability to contend well at the back end of the schedule — my vantage point it was much more on the players than coaching. DeVries can coach, personally I’m waiting to see what he does both in the portal now that he has time to put a team together with a staff, and next season for how he competes in conf and the portal.
  22. What in USPS’s post that I quoted is wrong?
  23. Why ignore the post I quoted to try to make this stretched comparison. Of course they made the tourney and we didn’t. Comparitively we were similar teams with Iowa crapping the bed in multiple games — head and shoulders above him while ignoring everything USPS just posted and ai quoted is just ridiculous. Maybe look at what the quote and tell me how USPS is wrong?
  24. We were a 9 seed then fell out. Good grief just read USPS’s post - which I quoted - to satisfy your “curiosity.”
