  1. Just 2 TO's so far, and shooting well, TJD will assert himself in the 2nd half
  2. But you can't just gloss over the shooting part, and there's nothing so far to reach the conclusion that that he's probably not far behind Kopp as a shooter. Kopp is in the range of a 40% outside shooter, Galloway hasn't shown any level of even decent outside shooting -- and I like Galloway a lot for all the reasons you mention. On very limited shot attempts so far this season, Galloway's shot "looks" better to me, but there's zero evidence to say he can shoot like either Kopp or Stew, those guys are proven, consistent outside shooters. The team is set up to create spread by having the outside shooters on the floor - Stew and Kopp in the starting lineup, the problem has been that despite that we're still shooting by numbers at the bottom of the conference. If that's going to stay constant then I would agree it makes sense to consider replacing Kopp or may Stew with Galloway, if you're not shooting then what's the point? But that's a little more complex of an issue, imo. We've seen several games where the blame fairly lies directly on TJD for not pushing the ball back out for inside-out play, when either or both Kopp and Stew are open, too much emphasis on inside play without the outside shooting due largely to TJD. Then we've seen games, like against OSU, where Stew is passing up open outside shots, often to catch a cutting TJD -- which for the most part worked and we won but then goes back to why not Galloway (but then he was out there finishing the game anyway, so now we're just talking about who starts as opposed to who plays the most minutes). On top of all of this, Galloway played fantastic -- but in ONE game. I'm definitely hoping we see the same kind of level of play today from him, but we shouldn't just assume that. Minn will have scouted the OSU game, they will (should) game plan for him. OSU couldn't and didn't. Let's see how Galloway performs over the next several games, let's see how he's defended.
  3. You can spend more, but I'd recommend the Breville Smart Grinder Pro (burr grinder) - has like 60 grind setting and they're most accurate, prices about $200.
  4. All for nothing, Dook goes down:)
  5. He does. He started bball late, his game's grown tremendously coming into IU, he's starting to earn more minutes as he's getting the speed and positioning of Woodson's sets better. some advanced stats worth noting on him -- he produces at a high level in limited minutes. He has to continue to work on avoiding fouling and yes his FT's, but his D is already solid, he can guard multiple positions. He's one of the guys I really enjoy watching develop, high ceiling.h stats: Points per 40 min: 15.3 (last year, 11.3) -- in conference, 15.6 3-point percentage so far 31%, but that's on 13 shots, still too small a sample size Boards per 40 min: 14.3, in conference 13.3 -- he's currently 3rd on the team overall with 59 boards, despite being 8th in minutes per game He's also 3rd on the team in blocks (7) And 4th in free throws attempted -- all the more reason to shore up his FT shooting. The kid's good https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/indiana/2022.html
  6. Dead on. People really need to give Rob credit. He almost always plays solid D, and he's clearly contributing and was a major factor in our separation in the second half, we needed him, he delivered.
  7. Mizzou scored 52 in the second ...
  8. With you on Geronimo playing more, he’s earning it, and TG’s return gives us options. We need shooters in the starting group and playing major min, but so far we’re still shooting on numbers at the bottom of the conference— Kopp needs to be shooting 3’s.
  9. Thing is, Rob and X together are clearly helping us win, go back and watch the OSU game, 2d half, the game vid is posted here, watch how, together they built that 16 point lead, watch Rob repeatedly tie up, force TO’s, initiate a break, swing the rock to the right place. Woodson is far from stupid, he’s playing the guys who help us win and Rob’s one of them, especially together with X - think of it as the sum is greater than the parts thing. Yes, Rob’s individual shooting, and solo primary ball handler game hasn’t been where it should be, but think your focus on that leads to over looking how he helps the team. And his D is big, this team turns D to O, in transition, because, so far, it has to. and we’re the best D1 team in the country defending the 2 ball, Rob is a big part of that, I don’t think that is fairly questionable.
  10. Yeah that's pretty crazy and likely has been part of the problem, but two things -- 1) winning culture starts at the top, and Woodson, Fife, Matta, bring big time winning culture in the B1G and NBA, and we can see it growing in the guys right now , and 2) while the starters haven't had a winning culture at the college level they all have real winning culture experience, they all know how to win and have the confidence within, it's just been a while. The confidence part of it is huge, and when you see the moxie the guys showed last night, TJD slapping the floor when Race scored in traffic off TJD's dish, TJD and Galloway's back and forth emotion after Galloway's end to end flush, you see it growing. Somewhat lost in the post-game discussion is that this was our first FULL game, start to finish, hard-fought W. They fought and executed their way out of the early 9 point or so deficit, they showed composure, energy, hustle, attitude, fight and never looked like they were in real trouble. I see a growing winning culture
  11. Yeah he had a great play from the left corner last night. I am one who thinks he should be spacing more with the 3-ball, but that play from the left corner was sweet
  12. Went back and watched it again, among other things - Rob and X were on the floor together when they stretched the lead out big to end the game, they again played very well together, and Rob again was excellent on D, forcing TO's, tying it up/held balls, he is clearly playing well. - Geronimo should be getting some love, he also played some really good D and is showing better ball movement, had several good plays. - Parker was missing (we know he can shoot) but was scrappy as hell. He picked up some fouls, but helped the D and also moved the ball well. - Galloway... what's not to like
  13. Right, Kopp was 40 percent from the arc coming into this game though, but bad all around on 2-Pt FG’s
  14. Seriously the idea we lost bc we “didn’t try” is ridiculous. That’s right, our guys who lost after being up 22 didn’t try. Dude, your negativity has you blind. Then when our guys come back, on the road, and force double OT (golly, still not trying), your take on that is newsflash, it’s easier to win if you don’t get “blown out” in a half. Hello, besides being directly contradictory and pointedly ignoring a road game at Cuse — and at Wisconsin where we haven’t won in 18 years (i guess 18 years of not trying), you ignore that that’s itself a testament to both adjustments made and the team’s fight and they had several chances to win but didn’t execute. You’ll never be happy, everything is negative about the team for you and if others don’t despair and see a lack of effort in extremely close road lossed they’re sunshine pumpers. Ok sure, lol.
  15. How is a double OT loss by 1 basket a blow out? Are you sober lol. And lack of effort when you’re up 22 in the 1st half?? Trippin
  16. I think you’re overthinking it - all good though lol
  17. But they’re not separate. It’s a continuation, he says before it’s all said and done he’ll become one of the top college coaches - not all time greats, college coaches, as in it was the right choice for IU
  18. But you know, our 3 losses this season are all road games, in double OT, and then the next 2 by a total combined 8 points. It wasn’t inconsistent effort. Agree the team needs to come out again and take care of business ag Minn etc, but we’re not seeing the same breakdowns as last season, apples and oranges.
  19. It's been posted on here a few times, at least when it was posted, when the lineups were compared those with both Rob and X on the floor together were the most efficient -- they play well together, and the team has played well with both of them, as opposed to just one of them, on the floor. I haven't seen recent game lineup comparisons, but it good info when posted. Edit -- just saw that was an older post, DWB, but would be interesting to see if this remains the case through today on game lineup comparisons
  20. The replies are kind of entertaining: Merritt @MerrittIUfan82 · 20h Replying to @GoodmanHoops @Jumpshot8 and 2 others They lost 3 road games. Which hundreds of past college teams who've gone on to make the NCAA tournament, and did well, have done. Your comment provides zero incite to anything other than your disdain for Indiana basketball. Kale Glynn @Farm_Lift · 19h Replying to @GoodmanHoops @Jumpshot8 and 2 others Man, you guys want to see him and Indiana fail. austin vonn grissom @VaughnAusten · 18h Jeff’s parents failed him- Siblings should never reproduce- bless his little heart IU looks like they should or could have won every game with a new coach and 3 new players on the team who are also starters - I would say so far so good - plus STRONG first year recruit class
