  1. But it’s 1/3 into the first season, and he joined at a time when building a roster from complete scratch, zero returning players was an immediate uphill climb. I’m as anxious as anyone to see IU ball strong again, but it’s just the beginning, and this guy, unlike Woodson, can coach. It’s just reality that’s it’s going to take a bit — no, not 4 years or imo 3, but at least time to recruit and build a bit
  2. You guys with the apathy thing just crack me up. IU was the losingest team in college football. The worst. To say there was no excitement about IU football would be an understatement. 2 years later with real success there’s great excitement. There was excitement during the Crean years in bball when we were winning B1G championships and making SW 16 runs despite mediocre coaching. The attendance numbers for IU basketball even during the horrible Woodson years were top 10. Apathy? Here, sure, and students don’t care about the weak team we just played, but as IU ball gets its feet under itself going forward (it will, whether this season or next) the enthusiasm level will grow. You’d think you guys live in the age of immediate gratification and social media. Oh wait
  3. Could it be because we just had 2 terrible coaches in a row spanning 8 years?? DeVries tenure has just begun. He’s an excellent basketball mind. Why is it we can’t wait longer than 1/3 into his first season before asking sweeping rhetorical questions?
  4. It's a 'nothing' game but -- it's more game time for guys like Dorn to continue to get into full game speed and shape, and in a game without risk. Dorn played 22 min against UK and imo could be a key piece as we get into the real season. Losing 3 of our last 4, imo getting some wins under their belt even if against some lousy 300's level teams is fine. The team needs to get their offensive flow going again and work through playing time / minute distribution of some of the guys.
  5. Zero worries there, that aint happening- PU remains overrated
  6. The bigger the ego the harder they fall… :) Ahh from the guy who already finished dead last in one game, the fall is going to be epic!
  7. Cig brought a whole bunch of his players with him. DeVries brought Tucker. We just came off a complete shellacking of PSU. We lost at Rupp. It’s going to be an up and down season but the team’s net etc is in pretty good shape and we have a ton of conf games coming for DeVries to get the team into March. It’s not going to be an overnight thing and any fan expecting it to be was in la la land.
  8. Gotta come out of half time aggressive. Wilkerson can light it up, again. Dorn is playing solid ball, and Tucker just needs to settle down. A 7-point lead there is money, use it and spread the lead
  9. Exactly- had the same thought can only help us
  10. Their road signs are hysterical and iconic- really funny, and they draw you in. Parking lot always full— they’re only on the major interstates in Texas, and on our road trips over a good 15 years plus it’s a must stop- total cult lol
  11. Funny, we destroy PSU in record fashion and they’re now in a 2-pt game with MSU with 3 min left
  12. We have Buc-ee’s in Texas, it’s almost a cult thing, have to stop at a Buc-ee’s on any road trip, big, size of small grocery, several types of fresh jerky and pastries and tons of types of snack mixes etc
  13. He knows very little about college ball (“turrible’) but he’s hysterical, always a fun listen
  14. Hard one to pick, but head says UK pulls this one out at home, in what is close to if not a 'must win' for them. Their losses have all been to good teams and they're kind of desperate for a W, so we're going to get their best effort, on their home floor. But who cares, going with my heart, F UK IU - 77 UK - 74
  15. Think the starters/top 6-7 are pretty clear now, but it’s still early in season. Before yesterday’s game people were questioning Maya. She always had the talent, but as a frosh at her position has been adjusting to the tempo and athleticism of college- DI level ball. Now she’s catching up and with a starter spot, shined. She probably will have up and down games going forward but she’s now demonstrated what she’s capable of. Wouldn’t rule out either similar growth in others or impact portal additions next season
  16. Which was also the year I graduated at IU. You're welcome.
  17. Golly, actual modern basketball. Bu-bye Woodson.
