  1. Sounds like something a UK or a KU might be doing fwiw, I noticed that Gabe Dynes is portaling again-former Woodson recruit iirc
  2. Likely that if IU is getting Burton and Sherrell they can’t also afford Reibe, especially if the other schools bidding on Reibe are UK and BYU.
  3. No one said anything about rescinding an offer. The scenario that was described is one where a “new” school (or multiple schools) start to pursue Burton since Houston backed off. If so, what if they offer more than IU does to Burton while IU is also pursuing Sherrell? I’d be surprised if IU offered $4 million apiece to BOTH Burton and Sherrell (unless they have more NIL money than generally assumed).
  4. Duke can get almost anyone they want and could have some guys more highly rated than MB for all we know. Thought I saw somewhere that Michigan’s PG will be returning next season. If Burton’s willing to pick a program like Auburn over home-state IU for an additional half-million or million, so be it. I guess you sign Clark’s nephew at that point and spend the “Burton money” on Sherrell and another shooter and a promising “power forward” type.
  5. But the “market price” changes if Houston’s no longer pursuing him imo. I don’t have a problem giving MB $2.5-$3 million but not $4. Personally I’d be reluctant to even give Sherrell $4 million, but I suspect IU might have to if they want to beat out other schools for Sherrell.
  6. If so, then it shouldn’t cost $4 million to get him
  7. It probably means he already had a verbal agreement in place with a specific school before he officially entered the portal
  8. I get the feeling the staff feels good about where they are with Brumbaugh too fwiw
  9. originally from Ohio fwiw
  10. Kinda like IU BB has been for the last decade
  11. Gonzaga mascot is also “Bulldogs” but they don’t (yet?) seem to have anyone in the portal Then there’s the Butler Bulldogs…
  12. Lovellette didn’t “bolt” he was kidnapped
  13. IU hasn’t really “locked down the borders” since Mike Davis blew off in-state guys like Hummel, Johnson, etc and wasted time and energy chasing Josh Smith all over everywhere.
  14. Actually, if IU got him he possibly COULD start (depending on the staff’s overall success in the portal). Which is frightening to contemplate, since I don’t think he likely can defend at the B1G 10 level.
  15. Sounds like Feigen (sp?) may be a target too—Chicago kid so kinda makes sense
  16. Probably wouldn’t have needed to beat Northwestern if they hadn’t crapped the bed vs Nebraska
  17. Which is why they may stay “in-house” and promote Davis, especially if they think it would give them at least a small chance of keeping the QB. But I doubt OkState would hire Morris unless they felt doing so would also give them a good shot at getting the QB.
  18. No surprise there; wonder if he’ll be able to bring his QB with him ($$$). Also wonder if Morris’ OC (Jordan Davis iirc) is the likely replacement at NTSU. Or if guys like Haines and Shanahan might get involved.
  19. That might change after the conference championship games. The committee may be waiting (for now) to see what teams are involved and how each one plays. If IU plays and loses to tOSU, I’d expect them to drop at least one spot, perhaps two if the SEC game is closer than the B1G game. I don’t think IU should drop below Bama if both make but lose their respective conference championship games, but I assume that’s likely to happen anyway, which would leave IU at #4 in the final seeding.
  20. Unless the rest of the country consolidates behind Simpson to keep the B1G 10 from getting it.
  21. WVU being this high might explain all the burned sofas and couches. Just a theory..
  22. Nah, according to the human megaphones in SEC country, no B1G 10 team has any good wins. Heck, even IU’s win over Oregon pales in comparison to A&M’s stirring victory over the wagon that is Notre Dame, at least according to those “experts.”
  23. Welp, if they’re willing to cough up $50 million to send Franklin packing (at least until Franklin finds another job) they may be willing to hire someone with a “colorful” past if they feel he can get them over the proverbial hump.
  24. So now it’s Urban for PSU? Okay…. I would’ve thought after Sandusky that they might want someone with a bit of a cleaner slate, but whatever
