  1. Sounds like for now the concourses, restrooms and concession stands are the main things, with possible changes to the press box potentially next in line. Guess the luxury suites and seating expansion will have to wait, unless a (#^*-ton of outside money materializes from somewhere.
  2. well, since Chesney (allegedly) interviewed with Dolson/IU a year ago, I’d say he’s the real deal
  3. I think Fede could potentially be a nominal “center” vs B1G 10 competition but Miller is probably too thin/light for that role. His skill set more nearly resembles Bailey’s.
  4. now in portal: 6’ 8” power forward Haris Elezovic from West Virginia University. Originally from Montreal. Potential bench depth at IU?
  5. That’s what I saw the other day, but he’s back in the 247 portal listed as “available” so I wonder if Willard getting a verbal from a 2nd big man may have changed Brennan’s mind
  6. did Duke Brennan change his mind and re-enter the portal?
  7. If Bargen is slated to be a “front-office” guy like Sturtz, that would leave 2 more “bench coach” spots open for guys who can recruit off-campus, etc. if 1spot goes to Justin Bailey (Sam Houston assistant coach) then 1 unfilled spot would be left, perhaps for someone like Mike Ekanem of Oklahoma State.
  8. You might have to pry loose an Assistant coach in addition to Thiam himself if you want that to happen
  9. I guess I could get on board with a spot going to Dez Briscoe—I don’t think he’s ready to contribute now, but in a year or two he could turn into an interesting player
  10. There are still a few decent rim protector types in the portal who imo might be worth a look besides Thiam like Maker, Ojianwuna (sp), maybe Boakye, Traore, etc
  11. Azayvier (sp?)EDIT: spelled correctly in above post
  12. There are definitely 2 spots (and $$$) available for Curtis AND an older, more experienced center whether that’s Thiam or someone else
  13. More than a “rumor” apparently
  14. 2 young assistants (Waterman and Hood iirc) one of whom came from Wichita State. No idea if they’d be worth pursuing but Thiam will be by a bunch of people
  15. Welp, the UCF staff under Dawkins does have some interesting assistant coaches. Just sayin
  16. It sounds like he’s as good or better of a prospect than the JUCO who signed with Auburn and I assume DDV was prepared to make a decent offer to him, so maybe he would for Thiam too. Gonna be some competition for Thiam, as well as the freshman from St John’s (Maker).
  17. Gonna cost a bag-and-a-half apparently
  18. Assuming Bargen’s not one of the 5 “off-campus” coaches (as has been suggested on multiple sites) DDV could hire J Bailey and still have a spot open for someone like Ekanem or Edwards
  19. Several guys fit that description—Boakye, Onyenso, Kante, Ojianwuna, maybe Reeves and Brennan
  20. If anyone 1) thinks McCollum is a great defensive coach (I do) and 2) watches Bradley’s win over Drake this past season then 3) Bargen’s pretty clearly an excellent offensive mind. And evidently won’t count against the “5 coach” limit on bench coaches who can recruit off-campus, so DDV still has 2spots to fill alongside Norton, Adams and Johnson. Unless he’s in line to replace Huss at High Point, I’ve got to think Corey Edwards could be a good addition to the new IU staff.
  21. I think it depends on Bargen’s role—if he’s a “GM” type alongside Sturtz then I guess that would leave 2 more spots to fill?
  22. To replace the 7-footer that left Mizzou for the portal I guess (Gray) speaking of 7-footers, Dynes (Youngstown State) to USC is mildly surprising; I didn’t know Dynes was considered athletic enough to play for Musselman
  23. Maybe in retrospect DDV would’ve been better served to just initially go after other more obtainable coaches and have a full complement of 5 assistants on campus and recruiting now instead of spending as much time as he did waiting on Murphy and Moikobu. I guess he hoped that friendships would matter more than they ultimately did.
  24. from your keyboard to Braylon Mullins’ eyes
