To be clear, not pining to be more like Iowa or anything... resume is very comparable for sure. Just think they've looked good when I've watched them. Very excited for our head to head in Assembly. Would that be a Q1 game as of now? Comfortably right?

I think they are a good, not great, unit that plays well together and has a good grasp of the system. IMO upper middle tier of the B10 this year
-
Minnesota loss looks a little better now and Iowa seems more beatable. Conference play is fun.
-
The difference between Iowa's last possession and PSU's was... stark
-
Minnesota up 8 on Iowa at home about midway through H2

Don't think Ngongba deserved that tech at all. Then picking up his 3rd right there. Ooof. Hate seeing Pryor be rewarded for being a tool

Great slate tonight. Mikel Brown Jr out vs Duke

'SETS ME UP' North Texas transfer portal quarterback commits to Oklahoma State in whopping $7 million transfer portal deal As Jason Kirk w/ The Athletic recapped so nicely: "From walk-on to $7.5M in 365 days" What top transfers get paid these days Almost exactly one year ago, a North Texas walk-on freshman named Drew Mestemaker made his first start at QB since ninth grade. Filling in for Virginia transfer Chandler Morris, he loaded the box score in a First Responder Bowl loss to Texas State, and then most people resumed not thinking about the First Responder Bowl. Fast forward exactly 365 days after that Jan. 3 bowl: Mestemaker, FBS' only 4,000-yard passer this season, agreed to follow coach Eric Morris to Oklahoma State. A walk-on just 12 months prior, Mestemaker now has a two-year deal averaging $3.75 million per season, the Tulsa World reported. You love to see it.

A stat for anyone finding themselves in a stupid argument about IUFB because of SoS Indiana has beaten seven teams who won 9+ games this season 13-1 Oregon 12-2 Ohio State 11-4 Bama 10-3 Old Dominion 10-4 Kennesaw State 9-4 Illinois 9-4 Iowa Combined record of opponents: 78-74 (Losses boosted massively by Indiana State and Purdue, lol) Compared to Ole Miss from the almighty SEC? 72-80

Options definitely seem limited but we will see what DDV and staff come up with. I think Dorn being on the floor helps a lot. IMO, the offense is kinda night and day based on how well Wilkerson is moving off-ball. Tucker has to be a staple on this team but his athletic limitations have sort of surprised me. I think (and hope) he will break out of this shooting slump soon. Sisley has a big role too - could see it expanding a bit.

I think that would be great for where we are right now! Personally, IMO MSU seems more likely to get ugly for us than be a close one. Think our best chance at home is by far Iowa... Kinda have to have that one. Don't feel good about Nebraska or PU... but I'd love some Assembly Hall magic this season. Or a night against one of these teams where a few guys are really hot shooting like they can't miss. Purdue would be a good game for that :)

Coogan is absolutely a deserving MVP/representative for the OL and seeing the team react like this was one of the best parts of this awesome year. I'm happy it happened. A classic moment that shows the character / bond of our team. That said, Fernando had a masterful game and was also a very worthy choice for MVP. Especially after winning the Heisman, you'd expect him to win the MVP (obviously the players and camera crew did). Herbstreit and Fowler called the game so got to pick the MVP apparently per tradition. Not to sound like a tinfoil hat wearing loon (okay maybe I am one...) a big part of me wonders if their ESPN bias did not want Fernando getting more of the limelight. Probably not - and ultimately doesn't matter - but the SEC / ESPN propaganda machine is a real thing that harms the sport IMO, so I will choose to quietly believe it and let the resentment stew within me until we do this again next season and the rest of the CFB world has to accept our sheer dominance.

Mississippi State beat Texas in OT. Camden Heide (formerly of Purdue) had a klutzy moment early in the 2nd half when MSU was shooting FTs where he accidentally tipped in a miss. Oops. Lol

IUFB Recruiting and Transfer Portal Updates

Getting all those commits yesterday was awesome. So was the complete meltdown on ND forums... They're at it again this morning, one forming consensus being that it's "morally wrong" for Cig to tell players they have a deadline to commit since we're mid Peach Bowl prep. Some poster trying to calm the masses: "Reminder: ND has yet to lose out on a single portal visitor that has made it to campus." (Desperate to claim undefeated at something, I guess?) Then coping by saying they really only need to add DTs and a kicker in the portal whereas IU needs a whole new team (lol). Inject this bit straight to my veins: "I still don’t get why we didn’t host visitors this weekend either but Indiana is also the exception, not the rule of the weekend amongst CFP contenders. Lot of the big schools did basically nothing so far. I don’t have the answer as to why ND and others chose that but we are mainly looking out the window SpongeBob style at IU, not the whole country rn. Land a DT by Tuesday and some will be forgiven." Get bent Domers :)
