He should have tried winning more games if he wanted to be Heisman. Clearly the best man won this year. -
Sure, but those guys are the outliers, not the rule IMO. We will see if DDV is worth his salt enough to get results on a normal timeline. I'd think since we had the benefit of hiring him relatively early in the carousel, he should've been on better footing to get the staff he wanted in place and that would've meant better positioning for the portal. We will see how he does in Y2. IMO we just have to be okay with a coach living and learning on the job, as long as he shows improvement year to year.

Apparently Pavia posted a picture from the ceremony on his IG story and wrote "F-all the voters" lmao... get bent d-bag -
Scouting evaluation misses happen. Even to the best of coaches. It took Hurley four years to get UConn to 20 wins and in the fifth year he won a title. You can say that was pre-NIL and pre-portal or whatever and I will say what's that honestly matter? Expecting overnight results is silly and not realistic. Games like last night suck and make for a long season, just where the program is right now. Hopefully we see improvement year to year. You don't need haters with a fanbase like Indiana's lol

I'd bet Arizona, UConn or Michigan against the field this year.

Sounds very similar to Pat Kraft at PSU nearly bungling his search to the point of the BOT getting involved (according to rumors anyway) and possibly getting very lucky with Matt Campbell waiting for his season to be over / not wanting to wait around for Michigan to potentially open. Pat Kraft, another incompetent administrator who happens to be a product of the IU system. Something is deeply broken in the athletic department / university administration. Cig is almost certainly a lightning in a bottle hire like Knight was. Hopefully we retain Haines to build on that when the time comes.

Meh, I am fine with Dolson based on the Cig hire and incredible success. IUBB can continue languishing away as far as I'm concerned. No different than it's been for decades. Just pour 100% of the AD's resources into football. We can follow football recruiting more closely than basketball moving forward. That will make the IU fan experience more fun for me anyway. Just like football used to be an afterthought / any success is gravy, now basketball is that. Odd times.

I was mainly skeptical about big man depth but talked myself into believing A) no way the staff could miss so badly on Bailey B) they must fit his offensive system well enough that I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Clearly there's a reason almost all of these guys started in lower ranks. We didn't hit on nearly as many as we missed. It's going to be tough to build on anything with as many seniors as we have too. Only really Dorn and Sisley as returning contributors so far. Not a lot (if any) help on the way in the freshman class. I love IUBB but tonight DDV and his team seriously disappointed me in the second half. Can feel the apathy about the rest of the season at least until football season is over. But now I am doubting that year 2 will even be much if any better. And that is sad.
