I was mainly skeptical about big man depth but talked myself into believing A) no way the staff could miss so badly on Bailey B) they must fit his offensive system well enough that I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Clearly there's a reason almost all of these guys started in lower ranks. We didn't hit on nearly as many as we missed. It's going to be tough to build on anything with as many seniors as we have too. Only really Dorn and Sisley as returning contributors so far. Not a lot (if any) help on the way in the freshman class. I love IUBB but tonight DDV and his team seriously disappointed me in the second half. Can feel the apathy about the rest of the season at least until football season is over. But now I am doubting that year 2 will even be much if any better. And that is sad.

Quinn's corruption needs to be investigated and prosecuted and I don't care how that makes me sound to people lol.

Road contingent taking a hit too. Me and a group of IU friends almost always go to the road RU or PSU games and nobody is interested this year. Sigh.

I've resisted the obvious "if only we hired Dusty when we (probably) had the chance" but it's hard to do that tonight. Shoot, tonight I'm stopping myself from wishing we hired McCollum who at least came with a ready made tournament team.

Yup you basically have no answers with this group. Big Ten season gonna be a slog. Gotta nail the portal this time.

Filling 6-8 spots is still a lot different than filling 13 spots, so there's reason to believe the $$ allocation can work better this cycle. The big question... can this staff accurately scout and prioritize targets?

Just tired of watching poorly constructed rosters for IUBB. DDV put this roster together and it's very limited. I like a lot of the actions he runs. But this went bad fast and we really don't have any "dudes"

Oh well, basketball is what IUBB has been for decades. On the bright side, IUFB is the cream of the crop on the national stage.

I can live with Enright in year 1 based on the history and probable team friendly deal, but he is asked to play a much bigger role than I'd like in an ideal world. Reed has no business on a Big Ten roster and DDV should have been able to assess that.

For me, I can forgive times where we play bad for 4-8 minute stretches in a game. The problem IMO is more that we rarely can string together multiple 8+ minute stretches where we are playing well in a game.

If we can't beat this team we will have a very tough time being .500 in the B10 IMO. We'd be lucky to have bubble talk with a loss tonight.

Yup. Of course HC is responsible for roster construction so he's ultimately accountable for that. But it's a year 1 roster so I've set those expectations for myself. Needs to improve in year 2. I also think DDV is young and early enough as a HC to continue evolving his style, so I want to see two full seasons before I feel like there's a large enough sample size for me to have a very strong opinion on most things. I give every coach the benefit of the doubt for the first two years and feel like season 3 is the "show me" year if I haven't already bought in by then.

I don't feel like I've seen enough to say his brand of basketball isn't great. There are things I like and things I don't love so much.
