  1. Definitely right to assume there's been conversations before today. Haven't heard anything about visits. Generally, I'd think this weekend visits will start and there will be a wave of commitments.
  2. Malone is the second highest paid coach in CBB and has never coached a game. $8.3M a year for 6 years.
  3. Can probably have a lot of fun with this if you get some free time: https://collegebasketballportal.com/ You can tab over to find players in the portal sorted by 2026-2027 projected BPR from Evan Miya (BPR measures a players offensive and defensive value per possession). There's a portal simulator you can use build a team for next year including projected NIL cost (take with a huge grain of salt obviously) Doesn't account for the freshmen or have Andrej listed so not close to perfect by any means. Just entertaining
  4. Hoping Andrej can give us at least 10-15 mpg next year
  5. I like that we are being aggressive in flipping a roster that clearly was not up to the task. I am patiently but anxiously waiting to see how we build the roster largely from the portal again. We will need to nail the eval of our non-star players too... Hope the $$ is ready. And we really have to have some multi-year guys this time.
  6. Hopefully next year we have better size and are more athletic.
  7. In an alternate universe that was IUBB winning the championship last night coached by May and led by Mullins, lol. Brutal IMO as an IU fan to see it play out that way. And Quinn getting honored at halftime is the cherry on top... like getting smacked in the face. It's much easier to enjoy CBB as a general basketball enjoyer than an IU fan. At least we have football.
  8. UConn is apparently targeting Preston Murphy to replace Luke Murray. TBD if they land him.
  9. Apparently McCollum turned down an interview. Different era of college sports
  10. Totally, will be interesting to see what happens. Wouldn't call it a grand slam HR, but a lot to like IMO: -Recent NBA success should resonate with recruits -Carolina definitely has the resources and infrastructure to support him in a quasi pro style operation -Based on how it ended, he probably has a chip on his shoulder and feels like he has something to prove From Carolina's perspective, I'd think even if it doesn't work out, you have peace of mind knowing you went for the prestige hire of a recent NBA champion than tried to take a guy like McCollum from D2 NW Missouri State to Chapel Hill in the span of four years. Credit to their AD for thinking outside the box if nothing else IMO
  11. Awesome pull for them IMO
  12. Hurley and one of the refs tonight, Breeding, have bad history
  13. Wonder who else we will have portal out... that's a big part of the equation. We will probably ask some guys to play bigger roles than they did at their last school. Our roster for next year will likely have plenty of question marks on paper. Hopefully it works out better this time.
  14. These two apparently have a budding friendship. Hurley said some very nice things about May looking much younger than he is, lol
  15. UConn fans starting to talk about Sam Orme... lol
  16. Little doubt left that Michigan is the best team in CBB this year. Only question at this point is will they play a better game than UConn Monday. The winner will have to earn it. Been a fun tournament this year.
  17. Yaxel going to the locker room with an apparent ankle issue. Will be back after getting ice and tape. Zona needs to at least get this to within 10 before half
  18. Maybe this is a hot take but I find Yaxel really unlikable.
  19. Maybe. I'd personally love to see it. I think they have a better shot against Arizona than Michigan. Tough to bet against UConn though. Should be a fun game either way.
  20. This result confirms that the OSOC (one seed or Connecticut) model will be accurate for an 18th straight year I believe
  21. I like that he enjoys playing the heel of the CBB universe too.
  22. They were really slumping before the tournament too dropping games to Marquette and Creighton. All year their fans felt like the team had never clicked. Hurley and staff have them playing their best basketball at the right time. They turn it up in March.
  23. UConn's second unit is maintaining the lead pretty comfortably lol. Finish strong and an Arizona win will make tonight a perfect night of basketball
