First half observations from me: The court is definitely a shade darker than the first game. Looks nice. Very happy we have Enright on this team. I am officially Concerned™ about Bailey in the B10... he is just not very strong. Sisley wanted the ball so bad on his 2nd three... loved to see him nail it. He has a big role on this team. Dorn looks like he can be a solid rotation player once he gets back up to game speed. I liked the little we've seen so far. Defense and rebounding have a looooong way to go. We're gonna need to win shootouts, kinda a lot, this year IMO. Milwaukee has a good coach. He's managing the game pretty well Loved seeing DDV rip into guys on the sidelines. Good to have a real coach again.

Meh, I don't disagree with his quote here... To me it just sounds like a coach advocating for his peers. I don't take his point as too few teams are in the mix but that it's unsustainable to unceremoniously can a guy like James Franklin or Mike Gundy mid-season because of this "championship or bust" mentality schools have. PSU and Ok St. haven't won a game since firing them and there's a ton of other big jobs opening this cycle... no guarantee they end up with better coaches. And that's to say nothing of the $$ aspect with how big these contracts/buyouts are and how valuable making the CFP is. It's all so situational though... in some cases it's time for a change anyway (Gundy, for sure) or the school is chomping at the bit for an excuse to get rid of em (LSU / Kelly). Some places will just always have that "championship or bust" approach - LSU, UF, Auburn have been that way. But... PSU hasn't won a title since 1986. Has their performance warranted that same approach? I don't think so, and I'm sure Franklin's peers all think he got a raw deal in the end. And they're much better positioned than other P4 openings like Ok St., Ark, VaTech, UCLA, etc. I love the playoff format and think it's great for CFB... but do think the shorter leash for coaches is a natural byproduct of it. Some schools will probably shoot themselves in the foot chasing short-term results. Luckily, for a change, we have a coach/admin that understands focusing on process will lead to the desired result...

Michigan hung on to win by 1 in OT. Louisville - Kentucky was a fun game. UL was winning big for a lot of the game. Kentucky eventually cut it down to 6 at one point I think. Down the stretch UL missed 6 straight FTs that would've put the game away. Probably going to hang on though. 95-88 with 18.3 seconds left. Our games against them will be tough.

Kentucky vs Louisville is a great game as expected. Crowd is super into it right now.

Reed is a senior. Harris is a sophomore. Harris will be injured until December IIRC and when he is back, he will be the 3rd big guy. Kinda doubt he plays many meaningful minutes this year, but maybe he makes the most of an opportunity. I could see him and Drake being candidates to be "Creaned" potentially. I think Dorn and Ristic are the most likely of the injured guys to play rotation minutes this year. Ristic maybe sparingly but we need a 3rd ball handler and I think Drake could also be out until December. Tough to carve out a role under those circumstances. We have 6 seniors. 2 HS commits. So minimum of 4 portal players if nobody transfers out. Need a starting C and a starting PG.

I bit the bullet on an ESPN subscription to watch UK vs Louisville at 8pm since it doesn't seem like it'll be on YouTubeTV any time soon

Dorn too, hopefully. So maybe 4 guys returning if Ristic cracks the rotation.

I apparently can't post the YouTube link because the title has an emoji in it... but Field of 68 has an interview with Wilkerson after yesterday's game. The title of the video quotes Lamar saying "We can play with ANYBODY" Assembly Hall is going to have some great moments this year. DDV told the team they had a bad defensive game because they kept letting Marquette get two feet in the paint, we didn't guard as well as we could've. We can be a great defensive team because our team knows you have to be tough to go into battle and win. That's pretty much the gist of the interview.

Washington 68 Baylor 73 2 mins 10 seconds to go

Can we get 10 more years of Cig and 15 more years of DDV? Then Scott make the next hires?
