Bailey is probably be the same kind of scouting miss that really limits a teams potential like Mahaney was for UConn last year. I don't hate deep 3s by principle but some of them are just stupid shots. We just really struggle against pressure and I don't know how many solutions there are for that on a team without a ton of athleticism / length. Gotta hit shots. Still have the lead. All things considered, would hope to be up more after the hot start. Let's see what this team is made of

Hopefully DDV and the team are more composed after blowing most of their early lead than the posters on this board, lol

Doesn't matter who starts, matters more who finishes, but it's odd to start one of your worst players IMO.

I don't feel great about this game tbh but I am reminding myself we have a new coaching staff, so hoping to be pleasantly surprised with how this team shows up for a big game in Assembly Hall.

He did really well today. 21 mins, 10 points on 5/5 shooting. Added 4 boards 2 blocks and an assist. Flashed some impressive skill for a freshman big. Great get for Sha. Not a super talented group but his teams always play hard. They won 7 games all of last season and are 6-0 now. Their NIL is just untenable for a coach of his caliber. I hope he gets them back to the dance this year then moves onto a program with better resources. He may be a different kind of guy though.

Shaheen Holloway has Seton Hall looking pretty good in Maui. They beat #23 NC State 85-74. First unranked team to beat a T25 opponent this season.

My interpretation is that we're making space for a killer portal class.

I'd like to see performance be rewarded but I agree in the grand scheme it's not super important. Gotta get Bailey figured out. Also wonder if as the season goes on Enright and Conerway eventually have a similar dynamic. Might need more size / athleticism / shooting on the floor. That would free up some minutes for Dorn / Miles. But I doubt we see any lineup changes tbh.

Have we seen Bailey and Alexis on the court together yet? Maybe we try that for a stretch during this game. I'm excited for the game. Not sure how we'll slow down Haggerty

Can we start Alexis without crushing Bailey's confidence? We will need Bailey to play a lot regardless but we are so much better with Alexis on the court so far. Highly doubt the starting lineup changes for this game, maybe all year, but I'd still like to see it lol

I think it makes no sense to project this season based on a team from several years ago where we have no players or staff leftover from. I look at the Indiana team today and see a group of basketball players (already an improvement from the last two doofuses) that have some significant athletic limitations and are playing at a higher level than they have previously, for the most part. I also see a B10 conference that's looking pretty good this year.

My concern has nothing to do with "only" winning by 20. It's how we've played.

Sorry, I forgot that the floor is automatically 20 wins - they must not play every game on the court anymore and I missed that somehow. Haha

That would be 8 wins... we will see how we do during B10 season. Possible, yes. Not as sure as you that it's not happening.

Connor Enright is 3/10 from 3 this year. Appreciate what brings on defense and in the locker room... but the lack of shooting / ability to space the floor from him and Conerway is looking increasingly problematic. What if we win 17 or 18 games? Haha I'm not writing them off at all but we've got very real limitations this year. Will probably upset some teams we shouldn't and have some fun along the way... just establish a strong culture this season and really need to build a better roster in the portal for year 2.

This is worth a watch. He addresses many of the questions/points raised here. The last question is about the difference on offense first 3 games vs last 2 games "A little bit how we're being guarded, like we talked about. The switching, we don't get to move it quite as easily. When some of the actions where they're not switching, you set a pindown and now a guy comes off a screen and he's got an advantage because his guys trailing vs. when they switch it, they're coming off and taking away that next pass so now you've got to get to a second action. So it just takes a little bit for us as an offense right now and that's what we're working on getting better at - how do we exploit that and use that to our advantage? And we'll get there. It just hasn't been very clean these last couple games."
