  1. This obviously means nothing until we get closer to the end of August but Carr is a Doak Walker candidate at 3rd string?? Odd but ok….Ziemba is ahead of Handy AND DK??? No freaking way. Thomas Allen 3rd string??? Is he even playing this year? I’ve got questions
  2. Hash tagging premIUm22 is basically saying a commitment is coming so if not Strickland, than who??? Would be pretty bold to post that knowing your top target is chosing between you and your in-state rival but I guess we’ll find out soon enough
  3. It’s a shame these in-state kids refuse to understand what it means to commit to these top 5 programs…redshirt, wait in line, get recruited over…repeat.
  4. Am I the only one who finds it bizarre when local kids are choosing between IU and Purdue?
  5. What is there negative to say about IU at the RB position? That we get too many guys into the league? That your position coach, who won a Super Bowl coaching RBs, is too well liked and respected?
  6. Do you know if he was there before Wright left to come here? If so, hopefully we have a leg up. I love coach Wright and am surprised more of his kids haven’t followed him here
  7. I don’t normally get too excited about commitments because you never know if they will pan out (especially at this position) but I have a feeling D Mac to Cooper is going to be a special thing. Hopefully this sends a signal to other top in state kids thet IU is the move.
  8. Coach Wright is quite the wild card on Twitter. Never seen an assistant be this active on recruiting matters
  9. The biggest attribute I noticed from his tape is his ability to wrap up. Laying the lumber like he can is nice but the way he finishes tackles is special
  10. I fully expect him to stay in the draft anyway. I think this is just a contingency plan in case he gets some sour feedback from GMs
  11. Kinda odd that a kid from Austin, TX has only one in state offer in TCU. Especially given that his school is a powerhouse coming off a 6a state championship
  12. Ridiculous. He hadn’t even squared away his previous issue. Dude is going to spend some time in jail for this. He can forget about football for the foreseeable future. Uber/Lyft is your friend
  13. D Mc is greatly weighing our current average so once we start landing 3 star guys it will drop. My hope for this class is a top 5-6 in conference player average. We won’t stay in the top 3. With a solid 8+ win season this year, I think IU will be the “it” school for recruits, especially with the in state kids. This may be our most pivotal season ever.
  14. Does anyone know how many scholarships are available with the covid rules? Looking at 247, most BigTen programs are coming in with 90+, even 100+ scholarship players on their rosters while IU is at 80 which is 5 below the normal max. 247’s scholarship distribution seems to be up to date but maybe there are errors? Otherwise, some teams will have a huge depth advantage going into next season
  15. Yea, I think it’s because he’s ranked 23rd on ESPN that drives his composite into 5 star even though ESPN still shows him at a 4. I’d be willing to bet that if he dropped a spot in any site he’d drop back to a 4 composite
  16. Somehow the composite has him just over the 99 points threshold which for 247 is 5 star. I expect ESPN to upgrade him to 5 star before it’s finalized unless he drops out of the top 25 (which seems unlikely). In ESPN and 247 he’s the first 4 star and 3rd in rivals so no matter what, it’s splitting hairs
  17. Schnell was labled as the best player in the country by Sports Illustrated coming into college so he’s gotta be the highest “rated” prospect of all time. I know AT was a Parade All American but I don’t know if that lands him in the top 30 in the country or not since it’s based on position and not overall top prospect. Even if this kid comes here, I don’t expect to be getting a 5 star-esque caliber of player. He was clearly overrated coming into USC but would provide valuable depth and production filling in for Stevie. I’m not sold on Sampson James yet but I hope he’ll make strides working with DMC
  18. I didn’t have a problem with his shot selection per say, but you could tell he had an agenda everytime he got into the game and forced a bunch of shots before getting settled but I only really had a problem with it because the shots were so off target. Defensively, my hope is that was a product of being young, undersized and inexperienced. Most freshman suck at defense at this level.
  19. Archie’s offensive sets sucked, that’s clear to most people. That said, it’s awfully rich to have Lander’s dad criticizing it publicly when you consider just how awful Lander performed. Bad offensive sets aren’t the cause of a player jacking up hopeless bricks and airballs, even while being poorly guarded.
  20. I always wondered how recruiting analysts were rating Jackson because he appeared not to have a pivotal role on CG’s team, sometimes with less than 10 PAs in a game and rarely ran the ball himself. I wish him the best of luck at UT. Nothing wrong with a kid who wants to get out of town and experience something new at college.
  21. Could be playing the long game at PG here knowing it’ll take a couple years to develop him. I haven’t seen him play yet but from how he’s been described, all I keep coming back to is Bobby Hurley and if he’s anything like him, I’d love to have him.
  22. It’s the same as basketball, 25-30. I’ve long thought the top 100 (if not 250) in football should be 5 star.
  23. He played all over the defense for his former HS and also had a growth spurt not too long ago. I think he’ll have his pick of positions but I expect him to play LB or DE. If he stays quick and doesn’t bulk up, the Husky position fits him nicely also.
  24. Cooper Spells, Mullen & Monds are the three I’d add to that list although I don’t think Strickland wants to stay in state. I’m hoping landing Dasan opens up the flood gates of this class. It could be special!
  25. It’s weird to think back on how disappointed I was when Mike Hart left to go back to Michigan. Never in a million years did I think we could get DM back in this role...that was an upgrade in of itself. To get his kids on campus also is just an amazing turn of events. Hopefully we can hold onto him for the foreseeable future as I’m sure he has HC aspirations.
