  1. I agree. I think this is different from the aspect that IU doesn’t play ND like they would OSU. I would much rather play with with my brothers than for my dad so I totally get why they would want to stick together. It’d be hard on mom too trying to see everyone’s games if DMJ didn’t get a spot at ND. Not that it matters, university employees’ kids get free/greatly reduced tuition anyway so he could walk on. We’ll see…just don’t want to get my hopes up
  2. Caaaaaareful…he put out a congrats to his dad when he got the IU gig but said he was 100% for OSU regardless…then “family over everything” was tweeted along with a flip to IU. Here’s to hoping he sticks with us though.
  3. Very true, but in fairness, that was Manning being Manning and we had no Manning. We also lost our best WR and our “should’ve been best” WR got the yips. I don’t know if Sheridan would have been a good OC under normal circumstances. I just thought it was unfair to expect him to polish the turd he was provided, especially given the fact that he’s still new to the role. Allen put him there for a reason so it’s as much on him as Sheridan. Hiller was fresh out of excuses and it looks like everyone on the staff knew it but Allen.
  4. That’s just negligence on behalf of CTA. I got ridiculed for sticking up for Sheridan when I didn’t think it was fair the way he was scapegoated. Maybe he’s a crap OC but no one, and I mean no one was going to call successful plays for a team who’s OL is inept and starting a true frosh scout team QB who’s had zero reps and walk ons for RBs. If he goes on to be a success elsewhere I wouldn’t be shocked. As RB coach, you can’t succeed without a sound OL and run game scheme. Hiller provided neither and not giving run game coordinator duties to DM was a massive mistake in of itself.
  5. This was my exact theory, along with the fact that he left KC to be an Associate HC, not some college RB coach with no authority or say in how the program is managed. Have to imagine he’s mad as hell at the way Allen managed this.
  6. It is weird he’s of the few left standing but I keep seeing people come to his defense. Still very little acknowledgment as to why the OL was so bad last year and no indication as to how it’s getting fixed. I don’t like rooting for people to get fired/shown the door but if anyone earned such a fate, it was him
  7. He worked under Gene Chizik back in the day at UNC. This is absolutely a demotion and most likely a hefty paycut. UNC football doesn’t have the funds to pay Gene his salary and keep Warren north of $600k. They aren’t even paying Chizik what Warren stood to make at IU this year. I also highly doubt UNC would cover his buyout of IUs contract so if I’m forced to offer a guess, IU asked him to look elsewhere and he obliged
  8. 247 has Lynch ans Smith as signed…Camper and obviously Cooper are the two verbals left with hopefully James and Bailey soon to pop
  9. I’m not worried. With this newer signing day format kids have to decide or risk scholarship crunches. Transfer portal only exacerbates this for the better power 5. IU will hold his scholly no doubt but who else would keep a spot open for him outside of maybe Purdue?
  10. Funny, you weren’t calling for him to be fired last season. There’s so many inept comments on this board, it’s hard to keep up. Say what you want but I guarantee you and the rest of people sprewing this crap on here arent half as successful in your chosen careers as IUs current staff which should tell you something, but I doubt it will. I’m done commenting on the subject and why it’s messed up to be calling for people’s jobs. Carry on with your misguided vitriol…It’s not going to change anything.
  11. First, yea you do. Second, the plays you’re talking about are mostly RPOs which is why you don’t see linemen 15 yards down field, but you knew that right? So perhaps QB draw was what DMac felt comfortable with/would work
  12. Let’s see you run an offense with a rusty QB then a backup QB then a true freshQB with zero reps. I’m not saying he’s done a good job but under the circumstances and with Hiller being this inept, I can see Allen giving him a one year pass….but maybe you, who’s never played the game, been armchair QBing you’re entire life has the answer? Go ahead, give it to me….
  13. Really looking forward to spending thanksgiving with my Purdue alumn father who will insist on watching the sh*tshow that will be the bucket game. Once again, here’s to hoping IU bows out claiming covid cases
  14. They’re checked out. Hard to blame them after what the offense/sp teams has put them through all game long. Fryfogle spent a lifetime building a career and it took one offseason of feelin himself and not getting mentally prepared for the upcoming season to implode it. Went from best WR in conference a year ago to worst. Has that ever happened? My guess is no
  15. It says “that’s basketball”. So ya, if the offense is struggling the defense is going to have to be solid to win. The offense isn’t always going to struggle but if the defense is sound with max effort every night this team will be in every game…and that’s all you can really ask for.
  16. We’re also not going to experience a hot streak like Farrakhan put on in the 2nd half every night. He was hitting contested shot after contested shot that he wasn’t making in the first half. Also, Eastern Michigan is a very well coached team who can recruit and attract transfers
  17. He’d benefit by working inside/out. Get some confidence by hitting some mid rage 10-15 footers then take the open 3s when the opportunity comes within the scope of the offense. As Woody stated in the post game, we just need to stop the unnecessary outside shots early in the shot clock.
  18. He sat for a while after that phantom flagrant 2 then never got any looks when he got back in. Agree that those two have to consistently knock down open looks for us to be successful. I would have like to see more TOs used in the 2nd half to remind our guys to get the ball in the paint and move the ball more. Waaaay too many bad shots early in the shot clock by guys who aren’t trusted shooters
  19. Bad win but I’ll take that over a loss any day. People crying about how awful this team is, back to Archie Ball, can’t win 20 games, etc need to find another hobby. It’s clear to most that it will take time for this team to learn to play together, in this type of environment. Teams sometimes lose out the gate but IU found a way to win. On to the next
  20. Race may not show up much on the box score but his defense, rebounding and passing have been amazing. It’s the first game so I expect to see these TOs and questionable shot selection at times but it’s the defensive effort that’s preventing that from making a negative impact
  21. Just trying to do too much, forcing the issue. Would like to see Rob come in to settle him down a bit.
  22. Can we just claim Covid cases and sit the rest of the season. Getting embarrassed each week while injuries pile up is depressing
  23. Football players wearing hoodies under their pads/covering their name plate confuses me.
  24. How many offers to DLs need to go out in this class? This is getting absured and all but means we’re out of the running for Curry and the other high profile guys on the list if we’re still offering relatively unknown projects. This has Tom Crean - Grant Gelon desperation written all over it.
  25. Doesn’t make any sense. The offense has performed better than the defense under extreme peril. Our defense has regressed insanely from last year while only losing one key DB, getting one back in Ball and changing DCs. I do fault Sheridan for not having the guts to start Tuttle day one. Penix never had it back coming off injury but I don’t know that Allen didn’t make the ultimate choice
