You’re bringing logic into an illogical situation so may want to temper your expectations. The thing to remember is how the committee adjusts losses (and wins for that matter) after conference title games. They always hold less weight than regular season outcomes and are basically tie breakers. At the end of the day, ND was ranked #2 going into last night so how can they drop 3 full spots for losing to Clemson in a title game when Florida only dropped one spot for losing to an LSU team that had a losing record

Who’s Your IU MVP vs Butler
KzooHoosier82 replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Al’s out of control takes to the basket leading in nothing good don’t count as turnovers on the stat sheet but make no mistake, they are turnovers. I appreciate his rebounds but I’d rather he distribute and defend...Franklin gets MVP today -
Unfortunately Florida’s one spot drop after the LSU game’s precedent means ND has to stay the top 4. There’s no way to justify a larger drop for ND after a conference title game loss to the 3rd ranked team who they beat earlier in the season. At this point all I’m hoping for is a blowout win in the Citrus Bowl followed by a huge middle finger to the committee and an incredible/historic year next year.

You’re 100% right but I don’t see a way they will drop more than a spot Florida if a one score loss to LSU only drops them a spot. It’s criminal what the committee did to IU and the BigTen last week. Unless there’s a major change I don’t see Florida or Iowa St. dropping

I agree with you but all logic points to IU is a better football team. ISU had 3 losses and today’s wasn’t as close as the scoreboard shows. Match that with OSU beating Northwestern by two TDs with a hobbled QB and quite a few covid/opt outs. A 7 point loss on the road with OSU coming off a bye week HAS to look even better. I think the committee knows they screwed IU but they don’t have the balls to admit it and correct their mistake. Either way, ISU has no business in the top 10. Florida will soon follow

In fairness a lot of his short throws were just due to his lack of arm strength. The OC has to dial up routes that fit within your QBs skillset.
-
That was on purpose. His TE was supposed to come back to the ball, and if he does it’s a TD. If Ramsey throws it over the top there it’s OB. That stuff happens when you’ve only played one shorted season with your receivers

Peyton Ramsey does the most with probably the least god given talent in major college football. Kid does everything right. He won’t be playing on Sundays but I’d love to have him on IU’s coaching staff in the future

This team needs Franklin more than I ever thought would be possible. Al and Rob just don’t have what it takes to bring consistent effort and skill. Today was a tough game and I love the way they came out in the second half. If this team is going to be successful the guard play has to improve dramatically outside of Franklin. I’d like to see less Rob/Al and more Lander/Trey. Ask these guys to probe and dish and take open looks when provided. When Al/Rob try to run the floor, create or take jump shots nothing good comes of it.

He’s got tubes of some sort coming out of both knees from what I can see
-
Interesting, I would have thought an athlete like Penix would want cadaver parts put in. I don’t know that making the good knee potentially worse to fix the bad knee is a great idea, but I’m also no doctor
-
Penix just posted a pic on insta, looks like he had surgery on both knees. Wasn’t expecting that. Anyone hear why?

I’d love to hear from CTA on this. It’s just strange. Rankings aren’t everything but this is one of the highest rated recruits in the history of the program who came with very high praise and if memory serves me, was also very vocal/active in selling the program to other recruits. I can’t imagine he’s so bad that he has no role on this team going forward.

No one is touching his buyout. Allen isn’t going anywhere
