  1. He’s forcing it. If they are this committed to taking him away the guards have to make them pay. Worked well in the first half, now not so much.
  2. Archie is gonna lose his sh*t if these guys don’t start getting back on defense. They’re getting way too many easy baskets to stay in this game.
  3. Reich does this all the time. Chasing the two point conversion was also a huge mistake that Rivers/Doyle had to bail him out of later by picking it back up. I’m getting a little tired of hearing about the genius of Reich when he’s aggressiveness hurts the team more than it helps. You also can’t afford to blow a TO with a hail mary challenge in the second half.
  4. This is why our recruiting class remains so small. The Ole Miss transfer will also not count toward our 85. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a couple other senior transfers fo even further bolster the roster before the end of winter.
  5. Gotta say, I’m pretty surprised by this but in a very very good way. Keep em comin!
  6. We had our chances despite playing 5 on 6 but what an awful sequence to end the first OT and even worse 2OT. We need more bench depth if we’re gonna play a team like Wisconsin into double OT. Have to imagine TJD, Al and Rob were absolutely gassed. Lots to be optimistic about going forward. Let’s get at it against Nebraska
  7. If our guards drive to the bucket there will be no help defense. They just have to do it
  8. I love that Al isn’t settling for long jumpers. With TJD playing like this the lane will be open the rest of this game.
  9. He’s old for his grade so it’s more accurate to say he “could” be a senior in high school. I’d be less harsh if he came in and played within himself and tried to get others the ball. From my vantage point, when he does get minutes he jacks up a couple bad shots, forces a pass or two that don’t work and gets benched. If he wasn’t a 5 star recruit he wouldn’t see the floor.
  10. I just can’t figure out what everyone who rated/recruited him saw in his game. He’s very quick with a decent handle but he can’t guard a trash can and his scoring ability is beyond horrible. Maybe it’s a confidence/lack of playing time issue but I don’t know if I’ve seen a scholarship guard play worse then him at IU in this small sample size. We have walk ons who are better than him
  11. Getting really sick of the wasted possessions at the end halfs/games. Waiting until 7 seconds to get into a “play” is beyond dumb. So far it’s got a 3% success ratio and that’s only because even though I don’t remember it ever working this season, I’m sure it’s worked at least once
  12. Not sure what his weight has to do with the fact that he can’t shoot the ball. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a worse jumper from a guard at this level
  13. They need a lot of guys on defense to come back. I think there’s as many as 8-9 starters and a couple backups who would normally be out of eligibility. If they don’t have seniors come back my guess is it will be a bit of a rebuild year.
  14. I’d love to see him take over for Jones at the Tackle spot if Crider comes back. I have a feeling Powell will beat out Nworah and this is the most logical spot. Jones is great in short down situations but against high level pass rushers he’s an absolute liability. Carpenter is a very athletic guy with more than enough size to play in the tackle spot opposite of Bedford
  15. Completely agree. I thought Ball was the most frustrating player on the defense two seasons ago. I hoped it was due in part to trying to cover for lacking teammates but I think you hit the nail on the head in your assessment of “lack of discipline, trying to make the big play”. That position requires a ton of football IQ. I’d like to see Ball used in obvious passing downs to cover TE’s and free up Cam Jones to apply pressure. If Ball puts in work in the film room he can provide a ton of situational talent and depth. He doesn’t need to be an every down player to make a significant impact
  16. So far those were the most obvious to me. Especially Kham Taylor who transferred here and didn’t see the field and M. Ball who isn’t much of a pro prospect at this point, thus has a lot to prove...but how much does he see the field with a RS Senior in Fitz? Guys I don’t think will come back are Fryfogle, Whop and J. Johnson. The guys I really hope come back are Crider, Powell, Swann and Whitehead. Nworah isn’t pro talent so if he’s smart he also comes back and gets a free masters degree but my hope is he gets passed on the depth chart regardless.
  17. And our coaching staff are full of morons for not utilizing the running game the entire last drive. Your QB has a separated shoulder and you take the ball out of Stevie’s hands?
  18. Mike Hart should have gotten the OC role and Sheridan cemented that fact.
  19. Sheridan was an absolute joke all day, don’t know why I thought he finally learned his lesson. Took the ball out of Stevie’s hands and played to their strengths. Unforgivable but Wommack and the D share the blame. IU football IU footballed today and it’s an absolute embarrassment to the program.
  20. Or CTA threatened to fire him on the spot if he didn’t get Stevie more touches. Either way, this is the way we should have played the first half
  21. They spent the last month feelin themselves and collecting individual accolades, not getting ready for this game is what’s wrong with them
  22. Utterly shocked we didn’t fair catch that. Maybe now we can run the damn ball???
