(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
rcbowla replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I hear ya. Only one I can think of was the chant for Reggie Jackson in that it didn't seem premeditated. And that's why I don't like them generally. I think a loud roar of applause and cheering would be more bone chilling to me if I were a recruit. JMO -

I feel that the only time a chant sounds good if it is a 2 syllable name. For instance the well known "Reggie" chant worked. I don't feel like a "Ro-me-o" chant will sound good. In general I do not like chants either as they feel forced/disingenious being that hundreds will join in just like sheep. -
(2018) PF Jake Forrester to IU

He's a "3 and D" player with good length, adequate athleticism and good defensive versatility. He'll get a shot somewhere I think. -
(2018) PF Jake Forrester to IU

I suppose that's a possibility. However, I still think he'll be here. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of a transfer situation. -

Why would Morgan want to leave after this season? He will be a featured Senior on a young and talented team. Also his skill set really would seem to fit into Archie's system. Not understanding the speculation with him leaving. I believe Morgan will finish his college career at IU. There are a number of others that I'm not so sure about however. -

I don't think he is anyone's before spring. Just my opinion -
You know, I'm having a real hard time taking much stock into these recruiting sites when they still have Tim Buckley as the lead recruiter on most of IU's targets. Come on now

True but Calipari was also coming from a program where he was already establishing that one and done culture. -

I'm struggling with this "time to makeup" ideology. Didn't Sean Miller pull in a top 3-4 recruiting class in his 2nd season at Arizona? Kids will go play where the best opportunity presents itself along with fit to coaching style. I don't know that it matters how much contact you have with a kid before the final year of HS. When I was 18 I was attracted to newest, coolest and most recent thing. I also know that girls didn't care how much I contacted them if there were better options lol. I just think the "behind in relationship" thing may possibly be overrated when talking about 16-18 year old boys. That's just my opinion which I'm aware doesn't mean a whole lot. Although I'm sure most guys understand my HS girls reference! -
The way I understand it is that some teams will offer guaranteed contracts to 2nd Rd. draft picks if they wish. Others will draft a player in the 2nd Rd. to be stashed in the D-League and only eligible to that team. If the player does not wish to do this then they can tell the team that they don't want to be drafted by them, which I heard actually happened with Yogi. The reason to decline this option is that if you go undrafted you then have the freedom to choose your spot rather than being at one team's mercy.

Just saw that IU offered wing Louis King. Is it just me or has IU offered a butt load of '18 wing/guards? I'd like to see a quality "big" be offered

Could be. However, wouldn't that be getting off on the wrong foot with the inside/out recruiting approach. Even if AM didn't ask him to transfer just the perception is bad when you're trying to build in state relationships don't you think? Not that he should be blamed for the cluster puck that Crean has created but still.......

I really think Blackmon will leave. He's graduating and has wanted to play pro ball since he got to IU. Given the fact that these guys have until May 24th to decide to remain in the draft or come back makes it all very interesting with Moore having to decide by Monday. If AM is making him decide then he already knows the intentions of the current players. I honestly have stopped guessing who the other one will be that's leaving beyond Blackmon (which I really believe will happen).

South side of Ft. Wayne is far from predominantly white. I'd say the opposite. If you take the suburbs into account then yes but not on the south side.
