  1. Another BIG IF...and a very valid one.
  2. Well…considering we’re bringing up McCollum this is fair. Excellent coaching record prior to joining Division 2. 146-24 record is impressive…and he has more than 1 year D1 experience and has done pretty well at North Texas so far.
  3. The same way Archie won at a place like Dayton. Again, not saying McCollum will turn out to be Archie, but maybe he will. We won’t know till after the fact. Going from d2 to Indiana is a massive jump…there’s so much more to being a coach at Indiana than being an excellent bench game coach…so MUCH MORE (and I’m not talking about having good assistants either). I’ve made my sentiments known about McCollum so I’m not going to continue to repeat myself (which I’ve already done lol)…would I support the team if he was hired? Absolutely. Do I think he would be a good hire to make at this time? Absolutely not…for reasons everyone else has mentioned. Do I think he’s the next coach at IU? No. Trust Dolson. Patience.
  4. I could see why someone would think like this. Valid.
  5. Huge concerns…again, hopefully we don’t get to this point and I don’t think we will.
  6. For sure. I know his name has been mentioned
  7. There is definitely a surprise candidate out there. Maybe Stevens is the surprise candidate all along that isn’t on any national media’s list.
  8. I’m assuming this is referencing Stevens here. If Stevens comes hell of a smokescreen!
  9. Thanks for sharing. Just a very unfortunate situation all around. I know they’re not together anymore (obviously for the good of all parties).
  10. What’s your point ? 5 of Mccollum’s wins have come in OT. I would call that luck by your definition then.
  11. Yup. We’re going to be fine.
  12. Michigan finished 22-9. Incredible season. Let’s not diminish Dusty’s accomplishments to try and make ourselves feel better about a potential coaching candidate. If it came down to Dusty and McCollum. There is simply no comparison. We would choose Dusty.
  13. Very good point…and one I made earlier. Drake historically is a great program…much like Dayton. FAU not comparable.
  14. Maybe he will…maybe he will suck. You don’t know that. Neither of us do. But your premise of saying the same people that don’t want McCollum wanted Dusty…isn’t even comparable lol. Of course we wanted Dusty. He’s from Bloomington, went to IU, coached in the Final Four…it’s not a comparison
  15. Whoa. 1 year. he’s not Dusty May.
  16. Thanks. Final Four and buzzer beater. Point is, if you want McCollum fine…but to compare him to May is a tremendous overreach
  17. Just stop. May is an IU alum, had D1 experience, and made the Final Four. all of which McCollum is not. Ridiculous comparison imo
  18. Ditto. After the Archie Miller and Mike Woodson risks…let’s get a sure thing…or at least as much as we can. I don’t think we get to McCollum but if for some reason we do, as I mentioned before - I don’t think we’re as an attractive program as I once thought and then would have to agree with @Scotty R
  19. Sampson’s team is an absolute wagon. 19-1 in Big 12 conference and undefeated on the road. Think about that…19-1 and undefeated in the road. I believe 19-1 is a Big 12 record.
  20. I gotta say. I like your confidence. I think Scott is going to lock us down with a very good coach that’s well known
  21. Respectfully, I don’t think Rabjohns knows much with this search. Based on who is in and who is out (from Rabjohns)…it’s sounds like it’s Brownell…now I do think Brownell has a chance but slim
  22. Coaching Changes (who is pretty “in the know” circling back to Beard.) This is in response to Goodman.
  23. Dolson = close to the vest which is another reason why I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a big name coach nobody is talking about
  24. I agree. I don’t think McCollum is going to be the hire though
