Post Game Discussion: South Florida 53 vs Indiana 70 | (2-2)
HoosierDYT replied to Trish's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Reasons for optimism: - Were starting to see glimpses - albeit small - of good basketball - Rojo looks to be gaining some offensive confidence - I still believe Archie is doing as much as possible coaching this team. Ball movement is improved, and generally speaking, were getting decent offensive looks - Hedging and rotating on defensive is improved, although still poor - Al Durham is a dog Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Really like that quote on Rojo. I like seeing coaches who trust in their players and I think recruits respect that as well Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Game Thread: Howard, Sunday 8pm BTN
HoosierDYT replied to Hoosierfan2017's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
After watching this game and the coaching specifically I wanted to share a few thoughts / observations: 1) Anyone still blaming CAM solely for the poor performances doesn’t know basketball. The seniors in particular play with zero confidence and the offensive system actually set up great looks - we just couldn’t convert at times. 2) To echo what people have been saying on here, I LOVED what smith and Durham did tonight. Would love to see them take more minutes from upperclassmen as the year goes on 3) This is probably my biggest point and plays a big part of our troubles imo. Archie’s pack line D works really well if all five players know it inside and out. However, if one player doesn’t, the system is entirely ineffective. If you watch DD, he hedges on screens, but takes forever to get back to his man. This results in open threes, as well as offensive rebounds for the opposing teams. Personally, I feel as the year goes on this issue will get better and better...but it’ll be a slow process 4) As of now, my ideal starting 5 would be: Green, Durham, Smith, Morgan, Davis. Durham and Green have the most “dog” in them from what I can tell Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

(2018) PG Robert Phinisee to Cincinnati

Yes, you are right. I catch myself fantasizing far too often about the 5 stars lol Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

HoosierDYT replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If we get phinisee I presume we lose out on dort/Garland/everyone else but Romeo? I like him but it kinda would hurt our chances with higher recruits. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
If anyone is familiar with Dayton basketball I believe Juwan is very similar to Dyshawn Pierre from a few years ago. Like morgan, Pierre was a do-it-all forward and really excelled on the offensive side under Miller. Almost got drafted too Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Who gets the ball in late shot clock situations
HoosierDYT replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I like the idea of giving the ball to morgan in the high post with Davis in the short corner and the other on the wings. This way morgan can drive or kick out and I like the idea of letting him work Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Is it just me or wouldn't you rather this be a four year deal with 2 games at home for each team. Neutral sites are so much less intense Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Confused because he said his preferred trams are NY, MIA, SA, and MIN, and he claimed his reason for requesting a trade was to be "the man." But on SA and MIN, he wouldn't even be the best player. Something doesn't seem right here, although Windhorst is one of the best / most reliable analysts in the game. I don't see how a fair trade gets done and I think something else will fall Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

(2018) G/F Damezi Anderson to Detroit Mercy
HoosierDYT replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This is spot on and exactly how Archie coached at Dayton. In his four years, Scoochie Smith always brought the ball up and controlled the tempo. Very rarely did someone outside of the PG bring the ball up. But positions 2-4 were interchangeable on the wings and most of the time the 5 would post up and be able to pop out to 3 Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
