    And this is what makes what happened with Curt Miller so maddening. The guy is the reigning WNBA Coach of the Year and reportedly, his dream job was IU. I can't help but wonder if we'd be a consistent top 25 program by now if he had stayed.

    Back in 2008, Clemson fired Tommy Bowden and replaced him with the team's OC, a fellow who had never been a head coach anywhere -- Dabo Swinney. He finished out the season, going 4-3. After that, he had a winning season, then a losing season -- then took off into the stratosphere. I'm predicting the same success for Tom Allen. Or not.

    Kyle Guy with 21 for U.Va. today against Lehigh. Boy, wouldn't it be nice to see him chuckin' it from the cheap seats while wearing the cream & crimson! Especially this season, when we apparently have nobody who can shoot from beyond 10 feet. With us, Notre Dame and the Purdues, our Mr. Basketballs should not be getting away from the state! (Of course, I prefer they go to B-town, but still ...)

    Crean's offense seemed to ignore the inside game. Archie's seems to ignore a perimeter attack. We have to find a happy medium. We're not gonna win many games by making five or fewer 3s.

    Morgan gets the ball down low. They double down on him. Newkirk is wide open on the perimeter, but Morgan knows he can't kick it back out because our outside shooters couldn't hit a 3 if there were nobody in the gym.

    Feeding the big boys worked great against Duke and we're shown flashes -- very brief, albeit -- of it here. But the truth is, if we can't hit outside shots, we're gonna struggle every single game against good teams. When you struggle mightily to get 2s and the other team is hitting 3s -- that's a recipe for disaster.
