  1. This girl is ready for some Hoosier hoops.
  2. ESPN used to open the season with a 24-hour basketball marathon. You could get a game at 3 a.m., at 9 a.m., at 1 p.m. -- whenever you wanted. I'm disappointed they canceled this after last season. I thought it was kinda fun.
  3. The good news: We won't lose this weekend. The bad news: We probably will next weekend. Turtles 38, Hoosiers 27
  4. So he was reinstated yesterday and fired today. I wonder what will happen tomorrow????
  5. Ruin the guy's life without any proof? ... Are you serious? A kid died. The proof is the dead body of Jordan McNair. And we're not talking about a court of law. We're talking about common sense and doing what's right. ... Was Rick Pitino convicted of anything? He lost his job.
  6. It won't matter. There won't be anybody at the game anyway -- probably only 17,000-20,000 or so.
  7. So they're fine with letting the strength coach -- and him alone -- take the fall? What a crock of sh*t!
  8. Perhaps the title of this thread should be "Scrimmage vs. Loyola vs. Chicago." ... With more than 100 posts, it wasn't much of a secret! LOL!
  9. Funny how getting caught with your hand in the cookie jar changes your perspective. I recall an interview in which Slick Rick specifically said he had no interest in a return to the NBA. He basically he said "I've been there and done that." He's not officially banned from coaching college hoops, but let's face it, he's probably finished there. That leaves the NBA, G-League, WNBA, foreign ball or high schools. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/25116516/former-louisville-coach-rick-pitino-hoping-become-nba-coaching-candidate
  10. In case any of the younger crowd needs proof, we have been (and I think can be) good in football. This happened on Oct. 24, 1987 -- almost 31 years ago to the day. If you had told me that would be the last time we'd beat Michigan, I wouldn't have believed it. I was in school at the time, but didn't go to the game. I was in my apartment, drinking beer and celebrating! ... That was the first -- and only -- time we beat OSU and Michigan in the same season. We played at OSU and hosted Michigan. These days, we seem to play both at home or both on the road. I wish that'd change -- playing in Columbus and Ann Arbor in the same season is a very daunting task for anyone. Especially us!
  11. I misread it -- thought it said Southern Illinois. However, I'm relatively certain that we are not related.
  12. I saw a few weeks back that someone (can't remember exactly if it was a single "expert" or a media entity) had Carsen Edwards as the No. 2-ranked player in the country. I did a double-take on that on. I mean, there's no doubt the kid's good, but No. 2 in the country? I'm not seeing that.
  13. Man, seeing about 20,000 people in a 55,000-seat stadium is embarrassing.
  14. IU football is like Sisyphus. We keep pushing that boulder up the hill and when we get near the top, the boulder just rolls back down. And we start all over. We keep trying and trying and trying to beat Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State, but we just cannot do it. I'm starting to believe it will never happen again.
  15. On third and 7, we throw a 3-yard pass. Why do we continually do stuff like that!
  16. I seem to remember Kareem saying that had Sam Gilbert not "taken care" of him, he never would've gone to UCLA.
  17. And soon -- if not already -- we'll be at the "If he doesn't go to IU, whoever gets him is cheating/dirty/morally bankrupt/corrupt" stage!
