11-19 on FTs (55 percent). Not good. -

Davis comes in and on offense, turns right into a double team and throws up a prayer. And on the other end, he gets beat for an easy layup. Maybe he should've stayed on the bench. -

At least Justin followed up the bad shot with a stupid foul. -

Hey Justin, it's called boxing out. And on offense, it's called a head fake. Give them a try. -

This has puzzled me for quite a while. ... He must show absolutely nothing in practice. ... With Davis injured last year and so many ailing this season, I would think his size would be a big plus. But there he is -- on the bench. Just like he has been for most of the past 40 or so games. -

Made a great defensive play, then goes down and does that? ... Very odd decision ... -

Nice job by Rob -- took it to the hole, where he was gonna get a bucket or a foul. He didn't try to make some crazy pass to the trailer. -

After Fitzner goes 0 for 2, I get him to the bench. He doesn't bring much else besides outside shooting and if he's not hitting, there's no reason for him to play -

Man, hate to rag on a guy for missing a shot, but Fitzner HAS to make that. That's why he's in there. And he was wide open. -
So what's the deal with the jerseys?

In this tweet announcing TJD's commitment, he's wearing a jersey with piping on the neck and shoulders. Wonder why the current jerseys don't have that? -
Per Rabjohns McRobbie to blaim for lack of athletic success
LamarCheeks replied to Aaron's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I find the fact that McRobbie took money from our B1G Network deal and using it for academic expenditures a very interesting conundrum. Do other B1G schools do this? Since athletics is responsible for generating that revenue, should the money go there? I don't know the answer. I'm asking. ... Has anybody seen "Friday Night Lights" the TV series? This reminds me of an episode in which Buddy (a big-shot town businessman who is a big-time booster and former player) and the boosters raised a truckload of money for a Jumbotron at the football stadium. Meanwhile, the school is in financial dire straits and had to cut teachers and is doing without basic materials. So Tami, the principal, took Buddy's money and redirected it toward academics -- nixing the Jumbotron. Both sides have very valid arguments: Without Buddy and the boosters' work, that money wouldn't even exist. And they raised it and solicited donations specifically for the purpose of building a Jumbotron. But when the school is floundering financially, doesn't a Jumbotron seem very frivolous? ... And poor Eric was caught in the middle. He married to Tami, so wants to support her, but also is the football coach -- and wants to keep Buddy and the boosters happy. ... Great writing on that episode. -

2018 Big-Ten vs ACC Challenge
LamarCheeks replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
U.Va. committed two turnovers -- two! -- at Maryland. Both were offensive fouls. I think we probably had two before we even took a shot at Cameron. https://pilotonline.com/sports/columnist/david-teel/article_6ff5f22e-f3ff-11e8-a444-8f0592da5aca.html -
East Carolina just fired its football coach -- Scottie Montgomery. He failed miserably there, but had a pretty good run as an assistant at Duke (the last few as OC), including helping to beat us in the Pinstripe Bowl. ... He might be one of those guys who's more suited to be a coordinator than a head man (kinda like CTA). I'm assuming someone will snap him up pretty soon. I wonder if we'd have any interest? Or if he'd have any interest in us? That is, if we pull the plug on DeBord. My guess -- even if did that and were interested, we probably couldn't pay him enough. ... I would love to see an offense, where if we're facing a third and 8, we actually throw a 9-yard pass. Or maybe even a 10- or 15-yard pass. Because when you do the simple math, throwing a 5- or 6-yard pass on third and 8 leaves you short of the distance required to achieve a first down.

This is pretty humorous. I wonder if Goodman has a beef with Dakich. I don't often see one media person calling out another like this (though it's pretty much deserved). ... I'd love to find out Dakich's "sources" -- if there are, indeed, any. I remember Tim Kurkjian said on ESPN once that he has a deal with his sources -- he will grant them anonymity, but if they're wrong and burn him, he will reveal their identity.

2018 Big-Ten vs ACC Challenge
LamarCheeks replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Sheesh, Purdue looked as bad as we usually do on a final possession. What was with that cross-court pass! There was no way that was gonna happen. -
He grew up there, played there and was an assistant there. I'm guessing for most, that made it a natural fit. But home is where you hang your hat. ... I know Knight turned down Ohio State when he was at IU and many coaches have either spurned or left their alma maters (Rich Rod/WVU in football; Les Miles/Michigan in football; Darrin Horn/WKU in hoops), so going home or being home isn't always the best fit. Oh, one big one I forgot: Alford spurned IU (after IU spurned him, however) LOL!

Damn, I didn't change the channel fast enough before Scott Van Pelt came on. The first few seconds of him were almost as painful as that game.
