    Allen is just a reincarnation of Bill Lynch and/or Mike Davis. Folks here have written this ad nauseam, but it's so true -- to not conduct a national search after pulling the plug on Wilson was absolutely reprehensible.

    Speaking of him ... When I was in school (or right before I got there), we recruited Dave Schnell and AT, who were in the top 5 nationally at their positions. They were guys just about any school in the country would've been happy to have. When is the last time we had recruits like that? It seems every time we get a commit, it was between us and a MAC or C-USA or AAC or even a top-notch FCS school.

    I didn't necessarily have a problem with him running on that play. The thing is -- he took too damn long. His timing and decision-making are terrible. He either drops back and immediately checks down to a 2-yard pass or drops back and holds the ball too long. Then he takes a sack, throws it away after scrambling around in circles or decides to run -- when it's too late.

    Special teams penalties are about as dumb as it gets. If you get beat by your man, let him go. He'll either tackle the guy at -- say the 20-yard line -- or the guy will return it 20 yards to the 40. Then it comes back to the 5-yard line or so because of the flag. Having the ball at the 20 > having the ball at the 5.

    So after that interception, we were able to run all of two plays before the field goal miss! ... Sheesh!

    C'mon, Ramsey -- get rid of the ball or run it. And make that decision sooner. ... And why do we keep running third-down routes that leave us 2-3 yards short of a first down! We do that game after game after game. I don't get it. Running a 6-yard route when you need 8 yards does you no good!

    We're doing a poor job in coverage, but at least we're not getting any pressure on the QB. (Channeling my inner John McKay -- only the old-timers will know to whom I'm referring).

    Looked to me as if that fourth-down pass should've been caught. Those are the kinds of mistakes we can't afford to make -- yet continue to make. Again. And again. And again.

    Still can't figure out what's up with Clifton Moore? He barely played last season and early on this year, that hasn't changed. Is he lazy in practice? Does he not have the skill set to fit in Archie's plan? Does he pout when he doesn't play, pushing him further in the dog house -- if he indeed is in the dog house? With Davis and McRoberts out, it seems like a 6-10 fella would be useful ... Puzzling ...

    Two times we had guys double teamed and everybody just stood around. When there's a double team, somebody's open. And somebody's gotta go get the ball.
