  1. Big news: He picked it off. Bigger news: He didn't fumble it on the return!
  2. You don't have to launch to have a helmet-to-helmet penalty for a hit on the QB.
  3. McElroy is absolutely correct: We just cannot keep running off-tackle. Our running game really, really lacks imagination. No rushes to the edge. No reverses. No misdirections. No ZROs with Tuttle keeping and running toward the edge. Up. The. Gut. Every. Time.
  4. If anybody's interested, Mike Davis' Detroit Mercy squad is facing the Tom Izzos on the B1G Network. I'm actually working right now -- just have it on for background noise.
  5. Ah yes -- I remember ol' Zander. ... He could almost throw the ball 25 yards down field!
  6. Lots to like here, but this might be my favorite! I still remember when his dad was the backup to Pete Stoyanovich. When I was a freshman, in a really bizarre, tragic story, Pete's father, who had mental issues, killed his wife (Pete's mother). Pete had to leave to go back home and missed the Ohio State game. Jay played and missed two FGs -- we lost 24-22. If not for those misses, we could've beaten OSU three years in a row. I think that was the only game Jay played at IU.
  7. I guess Coach K has a radio show ... He had CTA on and apparently, came away somewhat impressed!
  8. From things I've read, as long as a team has one open, he can go on scholarship right away if he heads to college early. Which makes me wonder if Crean has the inside track now that a Georgia player has "decided" to transfer.
  9. After the Providence game, we were better than last season. After the Texas game, we were way worse than last season. Now, we're better than last season. After our next loss, we'll be way, way worse than last season. And so it goes ...
  10. One of my favorite Schwarber moments -- 2015 wild-card game at Pittsburgh. Took Gerrit Cole into the Allegheny River. Love the way he tosses the bat away -- almost in disgust, as if to say, "How dare you think you can get that sh-tty slider past me!"
  11. As a Cubs fan of 40-plus years and an IU grad, I'm bummed. But I'm not sure there was any other conclusion to this. I thought he'd be a really solid major league hitter. I figured every year, he'd bat about .280 with some pop (30 or so HRs, 90 or so RBIs). But he didn't hit for average and struck out way, way too much. I know last season was weird for everyone, but he only hit .188. I think that might have helped the Cubs make up their minds. Plus, Theo always was enamored of him -- and he's gone, so I can't help but think that made the decision a little easier. He wasn't bad defensively, but is just a natural DH.
  12. Coleman is from my neck of the woods. I was pissed at him yesterday; happy for him today!
  13. Wow. Franklin played all 40 minutes. I didn't realize that.
  14. OK. We've seen Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Let's stick with the good doctor from here on out!
  15. Race looks as if he either got whacked in the nuts or has a groin injury ... Hope he's OK.
  16. That's 31 for TDJ -- a career high, yes?
  17. Jerome either needs to shot fake or go up a LOT stronger than that!
  18. Part of the reason these announcers are so annoying is that I'm working and trying to keep an eye on the game at the same time. Last I looked we were up 10. Now, it's four -- you'd have no idea from the announcers, though. No matter now "fun" Walton is, his job is to announce the game!
  19. Happy to see TJD playing well and showing some fire today. Yesterday, he looked so disinterested ...
  20. Bruce, it's time to hit that Long Valley Road and wrap this up.
