IUFB -- DC Kane Wommack to South Alabama
LamarCheeks replied to LamarCheeks's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Latest story I saw said it's uncertain if he will stay with IU through the end of our season. I'm always torn on those things. It's always difficult to tell if someone who's leaving is committed to finishing up strong at their old gig, or if they've already checked out -- so to speak. He's 33 -- and will become the youngest head coach in the FBS. -
IUFB -- DC Kane Wommack to South Alabama

Well, it looks as if it's pretty much a done deal. As Hawk Harrelson (I detest him, BTW) might say: He gone ... Thanks, Kane -- and best of luck at USA -
Last year, we lost our OC. This year, it could be the DC. Wommack previously served as DC at South Alabama. Both the Jaguars and Arkansas State are in the Sun Belt -- which is FBS. I must admit, I never thought I'd see a Hoosiers defense play like it has this season. And whod've ever thunk programs would be looking to our staff for head coaching candidates. Yet another credit to how the program is faring under CTA.

Has it already been nine years? Even though we played the fighting Caliparis, I'm just glad the B1G didn't step in and declare Ohio State the winner. LOL! -
Indiana vs Purdue GAME CANCELLED AGAIN
LamarCheeks replied to Trish's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Man, I wanted to put a major beatdown on those guys. Wonder if as Chris007 alluded to, it was mainly because of the PUs? -
It would be nice if they simply said, "We're doing this to help O$U as much as we can." The rationale that even if O$U lost to Michigan, they would be East champs is bullsh-t. If that did happen and we beat PU, we'd be 7-1 and O$U would be 6-1. Last I checked, a 7-1 record is better than 6-1.
-
Gee, that's surprising. Doing everything to accommodate O$U. Meanwhile, they're screwing us and to some extent, Northwestern. ... O$U can get to the CFP without a B1G title game appearance. But if we played NW, the winner would be league champ and be guaranteed a slot in a New Year's Six Bowl. As it stands now, if we beat/play PU, then Iowa, we'll probably have a nice date in the Citrus Bowl or Outback Bowl -- whoop-de-do! If NW somehow finishes with more points than O$U next weekend, my guess is the B1G will change the rule that says you need to outscore the other team to win a game.

The logical person in me wonders if he doesn't have point. The cynic in me wonders if he'd be saying this if he just hadn't lost -- at home -- to Michigan State and Illinois, and was 4-0 instead of 2-2.

Can't tell if this is a subtle little jab, or what? How real is it, though, if you let a team with five games in when the rule specifically stated you need six? And you wouldn't let anybody else alter their schedules when some desired to do so? This is such a double-edged sword. If the B1G lets Ohio $tate play in the league title game, they'd be massive hypocrites after altering rules at the last minute to let their cash cow in. On the other hand, if we do get into the championship game and win, the title won't necessarily have an asterisk, but most fans would like claim it was not legitimate.
