  1. Not sure how our defense will look under the new DC, but I will say this: I hafta believe this has set the record for longest title for a thread on this site ... LOL.
  2. I was drooling (not really) while watching that WVU-Texas Tech game last night. At one end, Mac McClung dribbled a couple feet inside the 3-point arc, went behind his back, stepped back and launched a 20-footer. Nothing but net. At the other end. a WVU player (can't remember his name) was dribbling right at the top of the key, went forward really hard a couple steps, stopped, stepped back and fired an 18-footer. Nothing but net. We got nobody who can do that. Well, we got dudes who can take those shots -- they just can't make 'em.
  3. Heckuva game. We've got nobody who can make shots like those teams do.
  4. This WVU-Texas Tech game is very entertaining. Neither defense has been great, but there's also been some incredible shot-making.
  5. This game has been postponed -- Michigan is on pause due to COVID-19. Our next game is next Tuesday (2/2) vs. Illinois.
  6. When I think of this team -- and the lack of leadership and seemingly lack of a hate-to-lose attitude to which you're referring -- I'm always reminded of the 1984 NBA Finals, when the Lakers crushed the Celtics early in the series. Larry Bird said, "We've got some great players on this team. But we don't have the players with the heart sometimes that we need. Today, when you see Magic slappin' high-fives and guys going behind their backs and shooting layups on us all day long, it seems like somebody would put a stop to it. Until we get our hearts where they belong, we're in trouble." ... The Celtics then kicked a little a-- and won the series. This team has some pretty good players, but we have no heart. PU and Rutgers just did what they wanted -- and nobody stepped up and put a stop to it. It's disheartening (pun intended). I'm sure they're not happy today, but it just seems as if losing doesn't really bother team all that much.
  7. Even if Race had corralled that, I'm confident he would have just thrown it away.
  8. Not that it matters at this point, but I'm not sure Race even touched him there.
  9. I'm now convinced that Thursday night did not really happen. It was a mirage.
  10. Every time we get within sniffing distance, we make an incredibly stupid play on offense, then give up an easy bucket on the other end.
  11. That pass by Leal was telegraphed, but at least it was lazy.
  12. Rutgers is trying to give us the game. We won't take it.
  13. State University of Indiana 74 State University of New Jersey 68
  14. I think I saw a Henry Lee Summer concert there when I was a sophomore -- probably 1987 or '88.
  15. Jordan Geronimo: "Going into the game against Iowa and having to guard Luka Garza -- it just fired me up." Imagine that -- a player getting excited about defense!
  16. I wasn't all that terribly surprised when we were down 9 and clawed our way back in. But after that, I was waiting for the inevitable drought -- and figured Iowa would just pull away and win by 14-15. But that drought didn't happen. And it did surprise me -- very pleasantly.
  17. BTW, heading into last night, the Frans were 22-1 in their past 23 home games.
  18. How it starts -- Hey, let's all watch IU get crushed tonight. Iowa's good. They're gonna kill 'em. This is gonna be fun. How it ends -- Iowa wasn't really all that good anyway. So typical -- love it!
  19. Post-game chat ... Funny -- at about 6:15 some guy (I'm guessing from Iowa) brings up the Hawkeyes' injuries, and Archie pretty much puts the kibosh on that right away. Good Lord -- don't tell us about injuries.
  20. Happy to see the fellas enjoying this one ...
