  1. BTW, we now play Northwestern at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Kind of an odd time for a non-weekend game.
  2. I thought the name Deland McCullough rang a bell -- and for more than having spent time at IU. He has a great story. He was adopted, and a few years back, started searching for his biological parents. After locating his mother, she told him his father was someone he had known his whole life -- a man who had coached him and served as somewhat of a mentor. His name is Sherman Smith -- and he had no idea Deland was his son. The woman who he had a dalliance with in high school never told him she got pregnant. Sherman actually recruited Deland to play at Miami-Ohio -- never knowing that actually was his son. A very cool story ... https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/24505521/the-jaw-dropping-story-nfl-coach-search-family This is a very rough YouTube version of the ESPN E-60 story they did on him.
  3. I sorta figured that, but wasn't 100 percent sure ... Regardless, after the ball hit the backboard, it caromed off Race and bounced to center court, where the Iowa kid picked up and heaved it at the basket -- before the buzzer. That's a lot to happen in 1.6 seconds. I have my suspicions that in real time, more than 1.6 seconds passed between the time the ball hit Race and the Iowa kid gathered it. Seemed as if the clock got a slow start or something -- and that's our timekeeper!
  4. All the Archie haters might want be a little cautious now ... He went and got himself a Gunn ...
  5. I'm not 100 percent certain on the rules, but when you throw the ball inbounds, once it hits anything, the clock starts, correct? When the Iowa kid threw that last pass in, it hit off the backboard, caromed of our guy (TJD, I think), then went out to center court, where an Iowa kid grabbed it and heaved it at the bucket. All that happened in 1.6 seconds? Why isn't our home timekeeper taking better care of us????
  6. It's just mind-boggling to think of what our record would be if we could shoot FTs and 3-pointers. Missed another 9 FTs today and 17 3s. Damn.
  7. Someone wrote earlier today that it wasn't a failed drug test; rather he was reportedly being reckless in whom he was hanging out with -- with regard to COVID, and so was putting his teammates and coaches at risk. Some did say he was dressed today -- as apposed to the street clothes he wore last game.
  8. Was a joke, dude ... Chill.
  9. Unfortunately, we'll probably lose our next 3 games.
  10. Having horrible flashbacks to Nick Anderson ... My junior year. Please don't let it be!
  11. We had him tied up on the double team -- and Franklin fouls. Jeez.
  12. Lander is the type who will miss four straight 3s, yet take a fifth. Rob is the type who will miss one 3 and not shoot again. Not sure which is worse ...
  13. I know you got fouled, Race -- but YOU GOTTA MAKE THAT!
  14. Nice flop from Al -- but I'll take it. We've gotten enough of those against us over the years.
  15. Our offense is a double-edged sword. We can't shoot, so we have to drive. Yet when we drive, we can't finish.
  16. Cheap foul -- got called just as Nunge stepped on the line.
  17. He was in street clothes last game, supposedly in uniform today -- leading to speculation that he's good to go. I have no idea, though.
  18. Mentally or physically, something's wrong with Rob -- he just hasn't shown up these past two games. Losing his minutes to Lander in a hurry.
  19. TJD didn't even shoot that. He just threw it.
  20. They're making 3s at will and we struggle just to get a shot off. Sigh.
  21. Dang -- this one got out of hand in a hurry.
