I'm no math major, but ... If we keep getting 3 points while they keep getting 7 points -- they're gonna pass us by pretty soon. -
BTW, South Alabama is 3-0 -- with a win over Bowling Green (who beat Minny today). That's where our DC (Kane Wommack) went.

I don't know why, but the announcer saying "Penix Jr." on every play we have the ball is driving me nuts.

I thought the whistle pretty much blew immediately after the ball hit the ground. Which to me, makes everything moot after that. But maybe there was a gap.

Unfortunately, our basketball team couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from distance. But -- also unfortunately -- our football team is great at making 3-pointers!

I'm still confuzzled by that review. Even if WKU wasn't offsides, after Penix released the ball and it hit the ground -- whistles blew. The play was dead.

First of all, it looks line an incomplete pass. Second of all -- what is a review gonna do? They whistled the play dead as soon as the ball hit the ground.

Poor CBS Sports Network. They showed the second kick -- the one Campbell made -- and were commenting on how it didn't look as if WKU was offsides. They weren't, dummy. They were offsides on the first kick.

I thought Campbell had more leg than that. That 51-yard try was way short and the 46-yard kick didn't make it by much.

McFadden just lowered his shoulder and tried to hit that kid. Had he actually tried to tackle him, he wouldn't have scored. C'mon, Mr. All-American -- be better than that.

Down 4 after a Toiletmaker TD, Illinois drove all the way to the PU 19 with under two minutes left -- then just kept throwing it into the end zone. Didn't even try to get a first down. I didn't quite understand that strategy. By the way, I don't have much room to talk, because I've packed on a few as I've gotten older, but Bret Bielema is ENORMOUS ...

That last name helped open doors for him, no doubt. After playing at Virginia Tech, he started as a grad assistant and has been coaching ever since. Never had a job at a level beneath the Power 5 -- Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Mississippi State, South Carolina (first time around), Virginia Tech, Georgia and Oklahoma before getting this job.
